Damn this game is confusing me, just look at the brand new convoy escort the Tommy's are using:

Saw it and fired from 800 m no questions asked...

Jmagine the result, because when i was preparing to take the imba screenshot, a DC messed up my bow quarters http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif When i came back on the surface i saw the sub wasn't sinking (dunno why), but i got the trophy i wanted, yupie!

It was his fault anyway, cruising like that near the DD's that were pounding me.

By rights, that's a neutral. The British did indeed have S Class submarines in 1939 but the submarine shown is the very inferior - and 20 years older - USN S-Class. (Six of them joined the RN in 1942 on Lend Lease).

Is that GWX you're on? I haven't seen one in the stock game. I don't know whether it's one of Ubisoft's mistakes or something the otherwise infallible GWX team put in.

It's GWX, it's in the manual and the museum.

Yea, GWX indeed.

OK, GWX then. As I said, it's "something the otherwise infallible GWX team put in". And wrong.

The S class in q is indeed a US S class which is being used as a "placeholder" till the Br S class is available

Thanks! Do you mean GWX will replace the USN S Class? Just seems an odd choice. Only six former USN S Class were taken (on Lend-Lease) in 1941/42, and renamed p551 to p556 serving - at best - until mid 44.

P551 (ex-S25) was leased to UK Nov 1941, given to the Polish Navy (in UK) and renamed the Jastrzab, lost 2 May 42 on one of its first patrols to "friendly fire" (coincidentally escorting a convoy, as the ones in the game seem to do, and ironically sunk by another former USN ship on Lend-Lease, the Norwegian-manned 'Clemson' or 'Town' class, St Albans);

P552 (ex-S21) was leased from April 42. Sent to India Ceylon as a training boat but didn't make it past Simonstown, South Africa. Finally sold for scrap in 1946;

P553 (ex S-21) leased from June 42, but stayed in the Halifax, NS, area, for training. Never crossed the Atlantic;

P554 (ex-S22) Leased from June 42 and did the same as P553;

P555 (ex-S24) Leased from August 42, operated around west of Scotland as a training boat until May 44;

P556 (ex-S29) Leased from June 42, refitted in Gibraltar then Plymouth and Portsmouth as training boat from Feb 43 until a battery explosion in Jan 44;

So they filled a gap in the training role, but they were short lived and hardly representative of British submarines - especially as there were a total of 61 British S Class boats, 52 T Class, 61 U/V Class and around twenty others.

Also, is there going to be some provision for the Italian submarines? Or - to really make the game interesting, how about HMS Graph (the captured TypeVIIc, U-570) http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
