I'll assume you're flying a mission on the Hawaii map, since that's the map that has Pearl Harbor.

Heading north to find Pearl might work...if you're south of Pearl! If not, you'll just get more lost.

You should be able to bring up the map (keyboard 'm') and see your aircraft position on the map, as well as other aircraft (depends on difficulty settings). Right-click the map to zoom out. North is at the top of the map.

If it's a coop or single mission, again depending on difficulty settings, you should also see a representation of the course you are to follow to target with several waypoints.

Welcome to the sim.

For starters, play around in the quick mission builder -- it is one of the options on the main menu. Give yourself an easy plane to fly (say a Yak-3P) and assign 1 rookie bandit to fly against in an easily downable plane (say an F4F). Once the mission starts, fly straight and level for about 15 seconds and you should see a dot on the horizon in front of you. That's the bad-guy.

If you have troubles with this one on one situation, try putting in a couple of friendly bombers into the mission instead of the bad-guy and try shooting those down.

This game takes a lot of patience to learn, but is well worth it once you get a handle on it.

The best way to learn quickly is to get on hyperlobby (where we play online) and join an online server. You can usually find people in game to show you the ropes. This works even better if you are on comms (We use teamspeak to talk to each other while we fly).

If you want more help, send me a PM, and I'll try to get you hooked up with all this stuff. We might even find some time where I could just show you everything in-game.

Good luck.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Some of my best kills have started with the thought, "There's no way in #@&* this is going to hit him."

If you want to see Pearl Harbor:

(Option 1)
Go to Single Missions. In the Air Force box, select IJN in the window. Under Mission Type, A6M2-21, there will be two missions that feature the Pearl Harbor attack. Launch the mission and follow the other guys. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

(Option 2)
Same as above, except choose the D3A1 dive bomber under Mission Type.

(Option 3)
Want to play as a Pearl Harbor defender? Under Single Missions--> Air Force, choose USN. Next, select the P-40B under Mission Type.

(Option 4)
Also under the Single Missions, if you select USN and then SBD-3 you choose a patrol mission at Pearl Harbor. I don't know if there is combat or not.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

For now, put your difficulty options on Easy. During a mission, you can find out where you are by pressing the 'M' key for map ... it will come up in the upper right corner and your plane will be the white icon. Japanese are blue while Americans and Allies are red. Click on it with you (right?) mouse button to zoom in or out; hold down the (left?) mouse button to move the map around inside its frame.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

"Really dumb questions" require, by law, really dumb answers. So here goes:

On one of those P-40 missions, you don't have to look for the enemy, he finds you.

That would be the 2nd one... you dont even make it off the ground half the time...

it makes things interesting too, trying to taxi through the mess in front of you when your wing leader is shot up<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
