I found it so fun to fly even can turn tight inside I-16 and able shot them down easy if aim off angle at cockpit. One thing I was unaware that Ki-27 do carry bombs so I guess I can use it as IJA ground attack plane in DCG with Ki-43 as escort. Is anyway I can add Ki-27 into Dgen into IJA as I tried do but not work.

Ki-27 has a very strange combination: no neg G engine cutout, however it has fixed pitch! On early planes it's usually vice versa. This changes early war combat maneouvering quite nicely: you can dodge attackers by neg G, however at slow speeds you accelerate like a dog, and have to be careful during diving not to overrev the engine.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Propably the most fun plane of all in 1946. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif I like everything about it. Surprisingly good rearview thanks to the mirror. Gotta love the radiator crank handle in the pit too!

It turns on a dime, it can even turn with the I-153, but it accelerates very slow,<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

OMG! I forgot about the mirror http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

Pleasing ammount of potatoes for the spud guns.
Seemingly takes slightly more damage than a zero or Ki-43 (less important things to hit maybe)
Engine runs like a swiss watch, but care needs to be taken not to over-wind it.

Flew it last night for the first time and had a blast sniping P-40's with the pea shooter. For some strange reason I like the older planes better in this game.

"The biplane of monoplanes" Can I trademark that?

I love it. Best plane of the new additions by far. If I had the money to build a full scale, flyable, resto-replica aircraft, this would be it.

Take one up in the QMB against an I16 type 18. The most fun you can have with your clothes on.

My impression is that it's a small, difficult to hit target, and it only burns if you hit it in the fuel tanks

On the other hand, the throttle seems to be working backwards. As far as I know, the throttle should be pulled back to increase power, not pushed forward<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I think its a great training plane. Handles well, hardly stalls, and pretty easy to land.

The I-153 and I-16 need to energy fight with it, which is a different role from fighting other planes. Its fun!<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Adore it completely, even the dinky guns. It does seem more durable than I would have expected since it lacks armor and self-sealing tanks. Main performance complaint is acceleration and speed but low speed characteristics and turning radius are amazing. When I realized it could carry tiny bombs, I tried it out as a dive bomber and found it excels against personnel and unarmored targets. Slow speed in dive makes it very accurate and the stupid telescope sight (useless in dogfights) is great for bomb aiming.

It and the I-153 are my favorite planes

The most wonderfull airplane to practise aerobatics in!!! It turns on a dime, it stalls only at the very end of the envelope, it rolls like horse stung by a bee...! Just lovely!

Isn't the reason why it doesn't cut out when negative G, only due the type of carburator and not the fixed prop?

Oh Yeah as I forget about neg G engine cutoff as it happen to me often in early plane like G-50. I play three time in QMB and once in COOP that enough to make me post to see if anyone like that plane. I bit shock how quick turn around behind attacker I-16 quick even I wow myself how it still fly after hit few time by I-153.

So I guess it may replace PZL-11 as talk how fun it fly. I remembered when PZL-11 first fly and everyone buzzed about it, now Look like Ki-27 may more fun and more blog talk than Poland plane as will it? Too bad as PZL may can't follow Ki-27 well as go negitve G dogfight.

If the Ki-27 is a little too durable (I have no proof of this) at least it would match the armoured I-153 a little better. That thing is a tank! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Zoomar, once you get used to the 'sniper sight' on the Nate, Oscar, and Val you will find that you can shoot the pilot with pin-point precision from a pretty fair distance. I LOVE the gunsight.

Joop and I tested the Nate against the I-16 and I-153 a few nights ago. He made the comment that this is the only time he can think of where he had to use a biplane to boom and zoom.

I can't wait to try it out on-line.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Is it just me, or do the guns seem better n the nate than any of the oscar 1s? I reflew some missions I made with ki-43-Is switched for both kinds of nates and I found it easier to down my targets than with the oscars.

Guns seem about the same too me. However, it still seems the plane is a little too rugged. Last night I set up a fight between me and 4 Buffalos. After I expended my ammo with little significant effect on the Yanks, I spent the next 10 minutes twisting and turning and getting pounded by 30 cals while trying to get back to my flak-protected base. I expected to burn up at any time but finally just ended it in a fit of boredom by kamikaziing into one of the F2As.

I had been using an H8K (unarmed) as a stand-in for a empire flying boat. In the exact same mission with Ki-43-Is (I tried all 3 versions), bringing down the emily was like taking down a water buffalo with a .22 rifle. With the nate, I set him ablaze with the second short burst. I flew it a few times with the same results.

The SB-2s I was using as Glenn Martin bombers were also much quicker to catch fire attacked by Nates than I ever remember with an Oscar.
