Fighers, I like flying the old ones (like killjoy) but when it comes to skinning I'd rather have a K-4

I've always like the early to mid war fighters. But I really like flying fighter-bomber missions though, especially with Typhoon/Tempest. I love to hit and run, engaging if I hold the advantage. For this reason I am trying to learn the FW-190 as of late, it is really suited for this role due to its ability to carry a decent ordinance load, speed, and overall toughness.

Fighteres & fighter bombers for me... Fw-190, P-47,P-39...the Pony of course.... Spitsm Hurris, Mes..they all float my boat when it comes to fling them. My faves however are the P-47, P-39 & the 51 as soon as I can get it.

Bearcat, what happened to your beloved Lavochkin? /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Just kidding, like you I tend to like all planes. I keep trying to settle on one, but it keeps changing. Currently I'm on a 190 kick. I've never left my 109 though. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif I'm thinking of flying 109E through G-2(my favorite) (1940-1942), then switching to FW-190A5 in '43, undecided whether to go K-4 or Dora in '44. I just can't seem to get into VVS planes (though I do like Yaks), although I have a healthy respect for them now. They just don't seem to have any soul, with the exception of maybe the IL-2. I guess it is just hard when your favorite plane(s) are not in the game (Spitfire, Tempest for me)(P-51 for you I believe). Luckily we are assured to fly these beauties in the hopefully near future. We are lucky indeed.

Heavy fighters/fighter-bombers. If you're thinking of taking up a new project, I vote for the Me 210/410 series. I don't care about the gunner position, just give me a cockpit so I can fly it please/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif .

As we all know, the Soviet Union had too many fighter pilots during WW2. So Stalin's scientists came up with a brillient way to solve this problem. They would make some of their pilots fly British made Hurricanes. The Hurricane was an uber flying coffin. It was designed to maximize pilot kills by providing nothing but fabric and a few wooden spars around the cockpit. This setup prevented the pilot from escaping easily while at the same time not interfering with enemy bullets and shrapnel trying to pass through it. The rest of the Hurricanes structure was designed to ricochet bullets and shrapnel into the cockpit. And thanks to the cockpits superb design, all of them would pass through the cockpit and the pilot inside with little difficulty. Of course the Hurricane's designers didn't stop there. In order for the Hurricane to become a flying coffin, they had to make it easy to shoot. They did this by making the Hurricane the slowest monoplane fighter in use at the time and even gave it a very bulky shape so that it would be easy to spot and hit. The final feature of the Hurricane was its ability to bury or cremate itself. And because it was made of biodegradable materials, the Hurricane was environmentally friendly after it buried itself. Because of these brillient features, the Hurricane was a perfect flying coffin and helped the Soviets solve the pilot surplus they were suffering.

Multi purpose fighters/ fighter bombers are my fav.

But pure dogfighters are fun sometimes too.

I've stayed away from the 109s 'cause it seems like everybody flies them, & they aren't the multipurpose plane the 190 is.

Knew next to nothing about Soviet planes until recently so am having fun learning about them -even if i can't fly for squat.

1 --- *Attack plane / ground support.

I prefer ground attack (CAS). Usually I am flying IL-2.
Hope that Hs.129 would also be flyable soon.

2 --- *Heavy fighter / fighter-bomber / multi-role.

My choice would be Pe-3, Bf-110, Me-210, Me-410, P-38, Mosquito.

3 --- *Medium bomber.

Preferably Tu-2, Pe-2, IL-4, Ju-88/188/288, Do-17, B-25, Wellington, Blenheim.

I lean towards heavy fighters/attack aircraft.
Take an A model 190 up, drop your SC500 on your target, blast a few trucks and then provide air support for inbound stukas. I love scripted servers.

Well since the Fw-189 is one of my favorites I guess I like light multirole recon types. Other than that mostly ground attackers & twin engine fighters.

haven't really settled on a plane, but guess fighter mostly. Flown different ones, but still searching for that uberplane that does everything for me and then some. I think its not even made yet, but I have high hopes Oleg will make me one.

anyway, on a more serious note; I like the Russian and German planes, but seem to have a less liking for the American ones; so far that is.

It probably has to do with the fact that I've flown the russian and german planes a lot more then the american. Good thing about the American planes is that I can READ what the damn dials and gauges are about!
