Hi all, I just read a brief description of the Forgotten Battles expansion and it talks about a P-47 dynamic campaign. I bought 1946, and I can't find the campaign listed as an option. Am I missing something?

Download Enjoyr's DGen patches and you'll be able to fly with the 9th Air Force over Normandy in a P-47.

They can be found at M4T.

After playing this sim for over a year and installing many home made campigns, I have never been able to understand what Dgen apps to install, how to install them, or how to use them and take advantage of them.

Someone point me to the right direction please, as I have thought that dynamic campaigns were already part of the 1946 install.

I got the DGEN generator here http://www.lowengrin.com/download.php?view.116

I just got to now fing out how to use it.

All I see is a DGEN debugging guide and US-Files with no description.

Using DCG I see no way to open an old campaign yet, only import or export online and no offline help file available. Im sure Ill get a campaign loaded somehow.

Now what does the 3rd line say after "you can now activate the DCG" as that last line is hidden iin that tiny box in the DCG program. I cant read the instructions " the box is too small and I cant scroll the text"

Well join the club Chris0382, your in the same boat as me.

Personally I need idiot proof instuctions without the writer thinking I know anything about the program. An idiot proof step by step process on how to work this stuff they create.

Mat Manager is the same, if your not a computer scientist your screwed.

Maybe I'm just to dammned old for all this krap, but straight out of the box for X number of years gets a bit dry.

My kidis about as useful as a glass of water to a drowning man. If doesn't interest him it's figure it out yourself.

Enjoyr's DGen patches are relatively straightforward. Download the latest version off of M4T (http://www.mission4today.com). That link will take you to the main site, although if you do a Google search for Enjoyr and DGen you'll find the link to his downloads on M4T right away. I think 2.6 is the latest version. Once you have that, download all the skin packs. Each one of Enjoyr's downloads uses winzip or WinRAR to compress an executable file. They literally install the patch themselves.

Try it, if you have any more problems, PM me. I'll walk you through it on MSN or AIM if you need me to.

For Enjoyr patches, go here and select the version of FB that you are running:
http://www.enjoyr-page.cz/PanelPatche_eng.html

If you are running 1946 out of the box, patch it to 4.08 and get the NO ADDONS version of Enjoyrs patch. 3.71 is latest version

It will add so much stuff for all sides that you will not soon run out of campaigns.

This is true, there are Dgen campaigns in the 1946 install. For instance, go to the campaign selection screen, find the USN campaigns, and you will see a couple of selections (I think they are called US Navy Bomber and US Navy Fighter). All the Dgen campaigns have a * before the title.

The Enjoyr patch adds several user-made Dgen campaigns, bug fixes since these extra campaigns sometimes cause others to fail, and adds more skins. With v4.08 of IL-2 and Enjoyr v3.71 for No Addons, you will more then double the amount of Dgen campaigns available.

DCG is a completely separate program. While it works with IL-2 and the Dgen program to give you campaigns, it can't be used with the Dgen campaigns in the game. It uses it's own campaigns, and the program can be used in a number of ways. Check out this link:
IL-2 DCG Documents (http://www.lowengrin.com/content.php?article.cat.8)

This is quite comprehensive, you should be able to set up DCG to your liking in no time with a little reading.

I have everything working well but I can not read the last lines inside the tiny text box in the DCG program. The text is hidden and its the lines after "close the DGC and start the game and come back and make changesetc".

The text box is too small for the amount of text shown after I generate a campaign so I dont know how to procede or get the most of the program.

Also Im getting that the enjoyer patches are for the BOE and Osfront expansion packs and really dont know the diff between enjoyer and DCG.

Enjoyer patch is available for NO ADDONS at the site referred to above.

It compiles several user made DGEN campaigns and makes trhem work without conflicting with one another.

DGEN is the built in campaign generator.

DCG is a dynamic campaign generator from a third party.

The Enjoyr campaign patches probably shouldn't be applied to any version of the game other than "1946." I'm sure most of the campaigns would work fine in v4.04m or 4.05m, but even the earliest campaigns included in the patches (from FB/AEP days) have been updated for new planes and objects.

If you are using Forgotten Battles with no expansions, the "P-47 campaign" is only available under USSR. The historical basis is that 200 or so Thunderbolts were sent to the Soviets as Lend-Lease.

Look into the 'Battle Over Europe' expansion, it is probably what you were hoping for in the base game. BoE was designed for Forgotten Battles and was later updated for AEP and Pacific Fighters.

Sorry, I just re-read the part where you said you have 1946. BoE is a good start; then add the Enjoyr patch that includes BoE updates.

Also, look under 1946's stock Pacific campaigns; I believe the P-47 is available to the Army and perhaps some Allies.

Unfortunately there are no stock 'Western Europe' campaigns in 1946, for Thunderbolt pilots or anyone else.
