Hi,

I was wanting to look at the cockpit of the Spitfire that's being developed for the Battle of Britain and was trawling through the archives of dev updates to find it, and it's not there as far as I can see. I can't find any of the other Battle of Britain development shots either. I hope I'm just being slack and half cut and the shots are on one of the foreign language sites and someone can point me in the right direction, but I hope there's not a more ominous reason that the development screenshots are missing.

If anyone can point me in the direction of the screenshots,or reassure me that BOB is still in the definitly in the pipelines, I'd be grateful.

Thanks

I think you could post them on rapidshare.de or yousendit.com. I use these sites for posting large powerpoint files at work. Yousendit is limited by 25 downloads though I think.

Noshens;

Sorry I forgot to mention that bit. I guess I take it for granted. Other than that, what do you think? Pretty nice way to transfer file?

Well yeah, i don't mind. It was much more easier to upload files on rapidshare than on payed hosts since I didn't have to log in and such. Quite a pain to download though http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif but hey, it's free!

Thanks for the pictures Noshens, it's much appreciated.

Does anyone know why the BOB pictures are missing from the dev updates section though? I'm pretty sure it's still being worked on 'cause there's some info from Oleg on the Flying Legends site dated 28th Jan. Maybe it won't be a Ubi release? I don't know, but I am curious as to where/why they've gone.

I'm wondering about the lack of news from anyone at 1C/Ubisoft since the new year.

More to the point of the thread title, both PC Gamer and CGW have shown Ubi's version of BoB to be due out Q1 2005. I'm wondering if their interns aren't getting confused with this:

http://www.gmxmedia.net/bob2/

Which Amazon.com.uk has due out 15 Apr. Or to add grist to the rumor mill, could the silence from 1C be due to crunch time for Oleg's BoB? Or could the Northrop/Grumman IP nonsense include a gag order, explaining the silence? And what about Martha, who's lying in a ditch outside of town...?

One final note concerning GMX's BoB. Not to plug a rival's product on Ubi's forums, but the features list looks to be directly aimed at Il-2's current shortcomings (Ai FM's, Ai's vision through clouds, etc.) Not surprising given Il-2's achievements that GMX would set out to do Oleg's engine one better, and at the risk of heresy, they've got me interested.

I'm looking forward to Shockwave's BOB II. This time I'm waiting for a few player reviews before buying it. I got burned on CFS3 by professional reviewers.

BOB II should be a solid combat flight sim but doubt very much that it will hold a candle too Oleg's BOB. Time will tell.

Great job noshens, I've uploaded the update shots to our BOB pages for all to browse.
