cheaterWarningNum=2

Hey Is there a way to set kick options by Ping instead of this [MaxLag] time settings?

Id rather be able to set my server so that anyone over 250 ping gets the boot automaticaly how can I do that ?

I think that is how it works, but I can't tell ya what numbers to plug in where.

Hopefully Ivan or g00se or some other frequent hoster can help ya out with that.

FBDaemon has a ping kick, and many other administrative features. You can find it here: http://www.greatergreen.com/il2/bbz

Bump for Cozmo_D from outer space, who came to rock the human race. He does it right 'cause he can't do it wrong. That's why the whole world is singin' his song.

If i am not mistaken farMaxLagTime is somehow interacting with max ping.. i could be wrong about it. A while ago i had conversation with Hunter about this, kinda forgot all the details.
On my server i use farMaxLagTime=6 which seems more or less acceptable. I`m at wrok now, but in readme for FB should be an explanation to all this if i am not mistaken.

Setting ping to 250, even if you can will not garantee that you get lagless game. nearMaxLagTime is the main thing...that`s when you see warping. I had it at 1 but too many ppl were getting kicked out... so i bumped it to 2 and no one complains about lag and not many get booted. I haven`t noticed any lag at all.

My settings:

[MaxLag]
farMaxLagTime=6
nearMaxLagTime=1
cheaterWarningDelay=2
cheaterWarningNum=1

if im not mistaken, i`ll verify when i get home.

V!

I think this is where the confusion comes in. The MAX LAG settings do not kick on pings, they kick on packet loss. High ping is just a longer delay of the host receiving a correct packet stream. I flew 3 months on AOL with 200-500mS pings, due to cable problems, with all kinds of DSL and cable hosts with good settings and set off the message maybe once or twice sporadically. High ping does not mean packet loss.

When the game detects packet loss from the client to the host, for the time specified in seconds, it sends out the message. The far time is when the plane is not close to other planes and the near time was incorporated for when the plane is being threatened, for "lag-on-purpose" issues. Always set this one tighter than the far.

The delay is how long in between detections that the game will send out another message to avoid multiple messages on the same lag. Nowadays, I fly with 200-500mS ping dialups that never set off my Near 2.0, Far 3.0, Delay 7.0, Autokick 5.

Don't be fooled. Ping and packet loss are not the same thing.

Here`s a good explanation to all this: http://www.casualpilots.com/downloads/lag_settings.txt
