Oleg I'm going to name my 9th kid after you. Holy Hell the 38 is improved, Run09's and Run90's look out your not going to be able to use that tactic any more, this plane accelerates TONS faster in a dive than before, and holds its E like it never did, several times today after engaging a Dora at alt and getting on his 6 they would use the same old tactics head for the deck, before in 4.05 I never had a chance in hell in catching them, but since 4.07 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif I was on them like Stink on ****. diving through 550 MPH like nothing, and the elevator control is much better, even at 450+ MPH I still had control this plane seems to fly like I used to dream it would. the only real weakness I can find is still the glass DM, but that I can live with. I just wont get hit http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/mockface.gif thank you Oleg for the DRAMATIC improvements in the aircraft

Note that EVERYONE seems to feel that his/her favourite plane has improved itself and vs others in 4.07. And I mean EVERYONE (Mustang, P-38, P-47, Fw 190, Bf 109, Macchis...) especially BnZ guys.

Since this is not possible and Oleg himself has stated he didn't change but a few, generally new FMs, I sense that this universal improvement feeling must be related to something general in the game, maybe physycs, or, admittedly, the new stick control routines.

i only got it yesterday, my first il2 game, and already i feel like this game is the best combat flight sim i have ever played, i noticed that the flight models and the controls are very good, i think mabe what it may be that is causing this feeling of improvement is just the game itself.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

38 indeed is an even greater joy to fly now.

What's even better then acceleration (seriously, it was an acceleration monster before)..it starts locking up in dives MUCH later now.

The J version is actually useful now, and in 43 servers up there with the best.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Everyone, no not everyone! In that I don't *see* or *feel* any performance differences.

But.. if someone wants to send me a track file of a 4.0x vs. 4.07 that that *see* or *feel* a performance differences has occur I would be happy to graph the results.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

IMHO this is due to several things. The input-system has been modified. Now, with the possibilities of different input-options, these changes might be very well obvious for some of us, while somebody else, with a different stick and different settings, might not notice any change at all.

On the other hand, speed and energy-bleeding systems aparently was changed for all models, or at least all I tested so far. That may also effekt some people more, as it supports their tactics or the way the aircraft is flown, to some it might not be as important, because that aspect is used much less.

So, it's quite natural some people noticed a change, while other didn't http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/10.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I can confirm two solid changes to the P-38.

First, combat flap is now in the takeoff flap position guys. It will not jam under 250 Mph indicated per the manual specs. Thank you 1C, they do watch the boards. You now posess one of the, if not the best high altitude turners in the game. Think about it, 250 at altitude is some serious speed allowing you to rate the nose like nothing else.

Second, the L's have boosted ailerons now. They will outroll anything at higher speeds, and I mean anything normal that 'existed' including run90's.

Thanks 1C team and Big Daddy O! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Just curious. Oleg stated he has done nothing to the older ac's FM's. But yet there are many here that claim they feel it differently. Now if he really hasn't touched any of the FM's, why is this?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

* The new controller handler is global;

* There were some global physics modelling changes too.

...is my guess.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Ahem, previously the roll rates slowed down as you picked up speed, now it speeds up. Lets just say it doesn't have anemicly boosted ailerons any more. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

The P-38L has long been the best rolling plane at high speeds. Actually it was one of it's best maneuvers to escape from Fw 190ies - go into a dive and roll at high IAS. You could do a 360 before the 190 had completed a 180.

Confirmed. The 38L was a fantastic roller at high speeds even before the latest patch.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

The Yo-Yo is very difficult to explain. It was first perfected by the well-known Chinese fighter pilot Yo-Yo Noritake. He also found it difficult to explain, being quite devoid of English.

I got about 70 MPH and didnt go into the stupid somersault. so that "appears" to have been improved, maybe. but one thing that I have notice is the gunnery. I desintegrated a 109 with only 5 rounds hit, 1 a 20mm http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif, this was not an explosion it just went to peices. also ripped another one apart with only 18 rounds hit, I also set a 190 on fire hard with 30 rounds hit. did they improve the 50's or is it because of the global changes? has anyone else noticed any improvements???<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

My first time online with the P38 back in old AEP days I went head on with a 109. I forgot to fire by 20mm cannon. Hit with 11 50 cal rounds. the 109 exploded!

I think it is simply the fact that we can hold our stinking aircraft on target now. Appears the blue salad days are over.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
