First of for the peeps that will look and say something like "get a couger" I was just able to talk my self into buying this one.
OK you know that little stick on the throttle? The one that used to be able to be a hat switch. I can't set mine up for buttons, is this normal? Not sure maybe it I installed the drivers wrong.
So far I've found that this stick us useless with out that function. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif

Yes it is the "mouse" but in the SST s/w they call it a "mini-stick"

But you have two hat switches on the joystick and at the front of the throttle there's another hat switch.....how many do you want?

Did you actually try it out for panning to see if you like it?

I kind of liked the fact that I didn't have to tell HOTAS setup that this is where I want my mouse look to work because on my X45 I had to set it up there. It felt very natural to have it there at a thumbs reach and took very little time before it was easy to keep a clean line while tracking an opponent from say, a low 4:00 then roll and already have moved the view over to just where you needed it at a low 9:00

At least give it a couple hours of stick time before you give it up as hopeless. If you still hate it Ebay it, It won't take long before its sold.

I guess the main problem is that I used a modified version on Adlabs profile and I didn't want to change too much. The stick itself is way differant than the x45 and have to get used to the easy stick movement compared to the x45.I've stalled more in the last two nights than I have in months http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif
I think this is just a s/w issue so maybe it might get fixed in a futere release.

are you actually running the SST software??

see, because theres two modes of operation:

1. install stick, let Windows install its reference drivers, stick works great but mouse doesnt work.

2. install stick, install SST which installs hardware accelerated custom drivers for the X52, XP has you install about 3 other drivers along with it (u just hit CONTINUE or AUTOMATICALLY FIND DRIVER) and then...you get a working mouse stick, with the scroll wheel working as well.

hope that helps.

tell us your serial number and where you bought the stick. all of us are wondering what retailers will get the newer serial numbers with a fix for the deadzone issue.

Serial:SZ00241656 or at least that's the number on the bottom of the base.
The install was with the sst software when it installs the Magic Keyboard and Mouse.
