I resumed patrol 31 and SH3 crashed on load. Tried another save and it crashed on load. I was really swearing at this point since last time this happened was on patrol 40 of my last career and the whole career was toast. This time the "in base before mission" save loaded. Whew.

Still sucks to lose most of a patrol, 2 successful convoy attacks plus a task force, and still 12 fish left. OTOH, for some reason the twin M42 was available when I restarted even though it was the same date. Maybe the game's giving me a consolation prize.

Oh for goodness sake. I finish half the patrol and then my dog sits down in front of the computer . . . leaning on the reset switch. I hadn't saved in quite a while.

No Scooby Snacks for your 1WO, I guess! Put him on diesel engine detail for a few days, he'll learn his lesson!

Ok, I officially forgive SH3 for losing that patrol -- because on patrol 31 version 2, I just ran into a convoy containing 8 or 9 Liberties, 3 T3s, 2 troopships, and . . . a passenger liner! Only the 3rd liner I've seen in well over 100 patrols, and the first in a convoy. This eases the pain of having my twin M42 destroyed and 4 flak gunners killed earlier in the patrol.
