I thought that game was being billed as a "arcade" sim

Yeah, I own the game, I like it very much, unfortunately it does not have an dynamic campaign and yes, it's kinda arcady...

What I like most is the possibily of playing with several war machines, that includes:

- Corvettes
- Destroyers
- Submarines
- Torpedo Boats
- Battleships (only available if you finish the campaign with at least one of the factions...)

Each faction (there are three factions) have its unique corvettes, DD, Subs etc.. and it also includes few variants for almost each category...

Shooting airplanes in the game is just fun! Like destroying merchant ships and oil tankers with the deck gun!

I also love the torpedo explosions (after the latest patch). And the way ships sink, they sink dynamicaly, ie: they will sink depending the place you hit them! D.a.m.n great!

But the game's main purppose is for on-line entertainment. Althought the on-line thing is not totaly finished yet... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

And yes, I like it much more then SHII (which is not a dificult thing to achieve...)

I have it as well. Its not to bad. Something to mess with until D-Day(March 17). One thing that I really disliked about it is that there are no visible crew members in the game. The guns move and fire with nobody next to them. Basicaly you got a ghost crew. Makes for a sterile environment. I have had it for about 2 months and I have just recently found out about Silent Hunter III. So when I seen that there will be visible crew members that you will interact with, that was like an answer to what was missing in Enigma: Rising Tide.

One thing I must say, I have entered late into the game of waiting for the game. I sure do feel sorry for those of you that have been waiting for Silent Hunter III from the beginning. Glad I didnt learn about it until now! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

One of the best features of Rising Tides is the optional Voice Command that runs flawless with the game.
No the game is not SH3 or SH2 of which I have... but it does have it's merits.

As I know, the first "voice command" for sub-simulators was experienced in Command Aces of the Deep: unfortunately, it was quite impossible to use (at least, for me).

Ahh, Well I must say then, that:
"Enigma: Rising Tide" was the first one to have a working "voice recognition" control http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
