These glasses may modelled correctly, kind of like a poor person's/personette's version of the rotating German sun-shield on their gunsights.

Yak9U sight is darker than the others. P~47 sight is also tinted dark like 9U.

La and other Yaks have tinted glass, but not as bad as those above. There may be others.

MiG~3 sight is clear as the FB river ice. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif Even if it is chopped off kinda like Fw. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

I just wonder if it overdone because almost nobody flies them, and when I was into the Yaks I didn't fly them and it was soley because of the tinted windscreen. I play at 1600x1200 everything at excellent and still my vision was effected too much for 9 series to be an option. I wish this would change somehow so more people would go Yak-9 series.

I'm sure the tinted glass is ralistic but I can't make out targets against the ground with my current settings & am sure that the view , like that thru sunglasses is better than I am currently getting in the game.

The problem is they are simulating dark glass on computer monitor. The effect doesn't have the depth of brightness/contrast that real life does. When looking through these dark glasses, there is enough brightness in the daytime sky/earth so you can still "see" well through it. On computer monitor, any darkness in the glass will result in poor vision through it.

Here's hoping that I made some sense with this.

Lexx,
Making perfect sense. It seems especially bad because the gunsight itself is also tinted, between the two it's difficult even to make out icons.

Do you know of away to raise the contrast in a way that improves vision thru the front glass without making other views seem abnormal ?? (just hoping I really wanna fly the Yak 9)

ps thanks.

The other Yaks are not as bad as 9U. La also tinted. I would like to hear from P~47 people, or my FB has different code.

Thread LOCKED. Goto Oleg's Recovery Room. Maybe we can get 20 pages going. Give Oleg another ulcer on top of Fw ulcer. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
