It's not AC3. It's a continuation of AC2, basically another 15 hours they couldn't fit on the AC2 disc. 15 hour single player story taking place in Rome, 4 times bigger than venice. Ezio must now deal with Ceasre Borgia, Rodrigo's son, basically Ezio, but younger and better. It'll feature Desmond too, as well as Abstergo. It'll also have multiplayer, so it's also the series' first attemt at MP.

Think of it as an expansion-pack to keep the fans happy until Ubisoft starts on AC3.

That wasn't a negative comment, it's what expansion packs are for!

I was really confused too at first, but after reading a lot of stuff online and in the forums i started to get a better picture, tho I was still confused a bit on some aspects. So I finally went ahead and spent the money on getting the xbox 360 mag that featured ACB and that answered soooo much. If you are really confused spend the few quid to get the mag.

So it's a DLC?

SWJS
06-14-2010, 02:26 PM
No, it's not a DLC. It's a whole new game, with multiplayer and a 15 hour storyline.

lol no, its a continuation of the storyline but it's a game in it's own right.

Not DLC or an expansion...

So I will have all my gear from AC2? And what happens if someone plays it and doesn't have AC2? And what kind of multiplayer?

*Neither has been confirmed but I think you start a fresh, no saved games are used from ACII... as I said earlier its a stand alone game so it doesn't matter if you haven't played ACII

*Speculation

Originally posted by PSM3 Magazine:
The only announced multi-player mode right now is Wanted, This is how it works: There are six visually diostinct multi-player characters, and you're randomly assigned one before each session. Within the levels (small sections of Italian cities - Florence, San Donato and Rome are confirmed, with more due) there are up to 140 non-player characters who look identical to the players.

At the start of each game you're assigned a target - one of the seven other human players inside the level. You're shown a picture of what they look like, and have a mini-radar to tell you roughly where they are. Heres the clever part, another player within the level will be hunting you, but it won't be the man you're tracking. A hunts B who hunts C who hunts A etc etc.

There are other rules. If youre too aggresive near your target (by running full-pelt, or leaping over walls) then that player will be warned and given the chance to flee, using a line-of-sight system simlar to the one in nthe single-player. Another nasty twist is that better players will be tracked by multiple enemies. If you're in the lead, you'll likely have the attention of three Assasins not just one.

Although we felt the map we played was to smalll to accommodate eight players(six would have been ideal), the mode has plenty of potential.

According to the devs there are plenty of ways to both hide and kill within the multi-lplayer, and the ability to exploit these moves is what will separate the average Assassin from the great!. You can sit on a bench next to two NPCs and wait for your target to walk past before plunging in the blade. You can kill them silently if they sit on a bench. You can hide in bails of hay, shoot from a distance with a hidden pistol, blend in crowds - unpredictability is the key.

Similarly, there are option in defence. Each player will have special abilities (yes, perks) to deploy during a chase - like the ability to to temporarily morph into a different character, send a decoy in the opposite direction, or deploy a smaoke bomb. it's obvious, even from the early build, that the balance between attack and defence is spot on - you get points for both kills and escapes.

@kroen: ths might be a spoiler, if you didn't watch the E3 thing:

the gameplay shows monterregioni under attack, and the Armour of Altair gets destroyed by a cannonball (and the villa's roof caving in.) So I'd assume that the rest of your stuff (minus the hidden blade) is gone too.

It's a nice, even perfect way to make you need to get all your stuff again.

And San Donato is a brand new city so that will be great!

its a continuation of AC2 (Not AC3)

ezio is older, more experienced.. and is now a master assassin... he has to go deal with Rodrigo's son Ceasar... he also recruits a bunch of people to become his desciples and join his brotherhood.....

If it's any easier, think of it as Assassin's Creed 2.5 :P

Or think of it like "AC2: Rome City Stories"

AC:2.5 is definitely the best way of describing it. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

its pretty much another scheme that ubisoft came up with so they can use the same models AGAIN, but i do like the different moves in it and it has a bit more content

Let me say this again. Brotherhood is AC2 Part 2. You need to have played AC2 to understand anything in this game. It is the next canon game in the AC main story, it bridges AC2 and AC3. It is not a spin off. It is not a scheme, or a cash cow. It is the real deal.
