Does anyone know if the symbol used in AC is a symbol that has any significance or is it a symbol that was just created for AC? example Masons, templars.....

Yes an no....the Freemason symbol is a square & compass

So the Assassin's Creed symbol is only half of it...the compass.

That they did, no solid information to back up any ideas of relation between AC and Masons though, as far as I know.

yeah i wasnt sure, not a history buff but i have noiced that reading this conspiracy type writeup of assasins creed explaining it all it sounds liek the davinci code lol

I believe it does have some meaning, but we don't possess the knoledge in the proper historical area to determine what it is.
I mean the SoT symbol was an astrological instrument, the T2T symbol was the sun, and I don't know what the WW symbol was, but I'm sure as hell it has a meaning.
