to those of you thinking of getting it:

Wait till it comes down in price in a few months. Not worth the $60 price.

Good sound and graphics (though not a huge leap forward from MOH), but very, very short.

Except for MOH, I haven't done FPS at all - and therefore play these as well as I fly (which is lousy), and it still only took me around 6 hours to finish most of the game.

Maybe I'm overly critical but it feels more like an expansion pack than something really new.

Apart from the storming of the port/beach at Stalingrad (right out of the scene from Enemy at the Gates) there is nothing really overly fun or new.

If you gave $60 for COD I'll sell you a slightly used MSFFB for $249.95(tax and shipping included) http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

It really is short though but it a good romp while it lasts. I especially enjoyed playing the Soviet campaign and Holding off the counter-attack at Pegasus bridge

if you want fast arcade action and good graphics then CoD is ur game, the action is way more intense then that of mohaa.

I'm enjoying it...loads of fun...like being in a movie...for what it is, it's fun

I payed only about $30 for my copy

I found it quite difficult going back to MoHAA
after playing CoD. In Moh if you don't go for the head shot, you pretty much have to empty half of your clip into an enemy's torso to get a kill.
AI in MoH can be outright *******...plus the imersion factor in CoD is far better.

i agree that CoD plays like a MoH expansion but the slightly superior gameplay make it enjoyable if you like that sort of thing.i completed it it in four evenings on medium but i'm proper stuck in pavlovs house on the hardest setting.for me the pegasus bridge level was the best, its possible to get through it several different ways as long as you dont get sucked in by the anti-tank gun.

Sorry, $60 Cdn, so about $40 USD or $35 Euros...give or take.

You are right, the Pegasus bridge is fun, but I found the constant running back and forth for the Panzerfausts a bit silly. The game says no one fights alone, but really only the player does anything of value it seems...the AI does a bit of support, but not as much as I expected.

There are a few neat spots...like on the beach at Stalingrad watching in the far distance the Soviet Commissars executing the soldiers retreating...just found it too short and didn't live up to the hype.

Haven't tried on-line yet...easy to do?

save your money and get hidden and dangerous 2, CoD is really just a play once shooter everythign stays the same you have no control over anything, the AI is stupid, dosnt do anything unscripted, hidden and dangerous 2 is great lasts longer with good replay value, its online following is much smaller but with alota people and low pings its great fun.

Next to the Russian missions the Pegasus missions are fun as well, just as the majority of the US missions.
Especially the Flak hunt a la Band of Brothers and the Drive through enemy lines in a French tin can missions were very enjoyable.

I got call of duty a few days after it was out. Its a fun game, but only for a week or so. I would highly suggest hidden and dangerous 2. Ive tried both cod and h&d2 online, and it seems that cod is prolly the better of the two online(maybe cuz i played so much moh). As far as single player goes though, h&d2 owns cod in all aspects. Just thought id add my 2 cents, for some reason i hear alot more about cod than h&d2. Anyone else try h&d2?

Hi guys.

If you like realism... then heres the WW2 FPS for you.

Its a TOTAL conversion of UT 2003, but dont let that put you off... its total. (not a frag fest)

Its set in the Eastern front, has iron sights only, great graphics... and a mature community.

So check it out... you just might love it http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Yeah, I have H&D2. Was a huge fan of H&D1 and glad the new one has the same level of atmospherics. Only just started playing it but it looks very polished. I love Scandinavian missions in the snow, reminds me of so many classic war films, so the first one got me right into it! I'm going to enjoy working through that, never played it online but may give it a go when I've finished the campaigns in SP.

Played the CoD Dawnville demo, first time through it's a blast but the second time, well, it's exactly the same as the first. I'm sure it's be good online though, my FB squadmates play it a fair bit.

Cheers,

SSS

One of the many things that set the 2 apart is that cod is very linear. Its the same no matter how many times you play it. H&d2 isnt.

I have to agree that the Hidden and Dangerous 2 single play is way more immersive and replayable than the COD version. I played COD twice now its off the drive in a box while H&D2 has been replayed four times so far and many more things to try yet

Looks cool...One of the neat things of COD was the Eastern Front...such an undiscovered part of simming.
I don't know FPS much...what is UT?

UT = Unreal Tournament

Yes Unreal Tournament 2003..

Unreal Tournament 2004 is out later this year which RO will convert to. But that wont be for quite a few months. You can pick up a copy of UT 2003 very cheaply.
