Here are the airplanes from my trip to the Technik Museum in Speyer. If you're in Germany, near Speyer, do go here. It's quite an experience. I'm planning a trip to their sister museum in Sinsheim. Concorde and Tupolev Tu-144 anyone? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif

This was an Airbus, for sure, but I am not quite certain which model. I didn't photograph the info plaque due to low battery warning (this was near the end of my trip to this place).

Parts of a Messerschmitt BF-110 that landed in Swedish territory in early 1945. The aircraft belonged to Zerst÷ergeschwader 76 stationed in Norway. It was abandoned by the crew on a frozen lake. When the ice thawed the plane sunk. In 1995 it was raised by the Museum Speyer.

I heard about the Starfighter...something about the wing design made it dangerous in extreme maneuvers I think. Something about the air flow I think.

Can't wait to try the Phantom! Thanks again man! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

It's a Dassault Mercure 100 (ya I know, I'd never heard of it either, but googled the registration when I didn't recognize the model... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif)

Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to if/when you visit Sinsheim, the TU-144 has a special place in my heart. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Yep, I saw those wires on that DB603 engine. I was wondering if they were part of the original design or if they put there after the engine was raised to "keep the engines structural integrity" in place.

Part of the original design. They were used in many places to stop the nuts from backing off.

The starfighter was once called "the rocket with a man attached to it" which is exactly what it is. It has a rate of climb that beats a me-163! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

It doesn't turn worth **** but climbs and rolls like a demon. It has very interesing flight characteristics. Actually it is a blast to fly. I was just kidding about staying away from it.. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

The jet that is the real little sports car of the bunch is the A-4. Now that is a real honey of a fighter.. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/partyhat.gif

That Zero midsection is a replica of the IWM one I believe. I've a magazine around here somewhere that mentioned it when it was completed.
