The much longed-for patch is out.
Many things have been changed in FM and DM and in other areas.

Perhaps your favorite plane feels different and isn't the killer it used to be? Perhaps you feel the rollrate/climb/dive/etc is over/undermodelled?

Maybe you've got technical issues after installing the patch?

Whatever your concerns are I would like to ask of you to please give the patch a thorough run-through before posting here.
It really just makes you look stupid if you come here after 15 minutes of flying posting that your fav-plane has been tweaked for the worse.
The patch hasn't been out very long. Do some more testing. Fly online some. Read the readme.txt (RTFM/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif )

And if you still feel the need to post your concerns here then please back it up with maybe a track, some testdata, some pictures or something else than just a "feel" that it's not really "right".

And if you got technical issues please post it in the technical forum where u will get swift and precise help.
http://forums.ubi.com/messages/overview.asp?name=us_il2sturmovik_ts&page=1

Lastly, if you think you've found a bug then please read the readme.txt on how to go about reporting bugs.

Thank you!

Good call Vengence played online for hours last night, and I liked some of the changes, think its cool to have several previous versions of myself burning on the ground for two to three minutes after being shot down,Havent quite got used to the changed FM's havent tried all my fav planes.Like the ability to go to "perfect" though.
Wish I could install it in the office.

Here is what I read

Im a "Experten" with two months of flying experience under my belt. I was downing 262s flown by Oleg himself before the patch. Now my B-239 just dont have the same umph. I noticed it when the Hun tried to hide in the sun, Normally I cant shoot his pilot's sunglasses off. Now the .50cal MGs are all talk no action. And what have you done to this gem of an engine! Before the patch I was able to do loops under the bridges over and over. Now after three loops the engine seems tired. Is my turboSupercharger Nitrous Shot ready yet???!!!
Also I think you need to fix the squeaky brakes on the planes. You see, as a expert mechanical aeronautical engeneer, I beleive the pads are worn on the brakes causing this insane noise. This is something I learned in the Space Program when my country worked in unison with the Soviet Union blah blah blah ............

This is my translation.
Im a looser, Instead of training and trying to improve my flying in QMB, I will whine about things I have no clue about. I dont really care about the historical significance of this game. I am happy as long as I am stealing kills. Ganging up on someone online is fun. So is vulching the same guy five times I am the Yak3 KING as long as everyone else is in bombers or Emils.
"I know I should get a job and move out Mom. After my 30th birthday I will think about it"

This is what I hear from the whiners. I hope you catch my humor. This is a great Sim. I beleive there is a great crew making it happen. Thanks to all of you who make my dreams come to reallity. If I catch something worthy I will mention it in a Tackfull manner.

Whilst I agree with your intent Vengeanze, there are OBJECTIVE criteria which STILL have not been met...

These are areas where hard numbers exist for the performance of specific aircraft.

To wit:

P47 roll rate...still way off.
P40 top speed...not even close.

The subjective areas are much harder to deal with and will require time to ge a handle on.

But numbers are numbers, and Oleg hasn't got the numbers correct on these 2 aircraft.

A 42+Meg patch, my gosh as compared to everything else out there this is UNBELIEVABLE

I realize it took awhile, but let's face it "everyone" always wants more.

IF we get free add-ons and some new maps, wow!

It would have been better if OLEG hadn't been sick and couldn't have put something out sooner. Hey, 42 megs is a lot of work.

Think about it:

Strike Fighters Project 1 has been talking patch for months and they're talking 3+ meg patch. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

CFS3...old sad story, a real dawg, and nothing from MSFT to really make it a viable CFS. The saddest part is the community of users is so positive. Every other post is some issue or problem with the CFS3 on every forum out there. Those users are still trying to resolve issues with no support from MSFT and they never will be resolved unless the code builder gets seriously involved.

I am an american. This may be why I fly P39s most of the time. I fly P40s a lot and T-bolts are my ground attack weapon. I flew it for a while at 7500m. This allowed me to get a feel for it. At ground level it felt heavy(as it was) and even then I managed to make kills with it.
No, I cant wait to get home and try the patched version. BTW thanks for that awesome MG sound coming from the P-40.

P40- which model? what altitude ? ias or tas ?

The patch is great, the whole feel is better, deeper. A great game/sim is even greater. I've said that 50 times. But it only took five minutes to see that my P-39 may have had a problem with the mixture control. So I posted within and hour. Sue me.

And Big Ben has a faster roll rate than the Jug.

Sigh.

And when, Vengeance, when will the first batch of new a/c (read P-51/Spitfire) be coming? Someone has a ballpark idea, let us know.

This is such a sore spot with me. I have told this story before, but will repeat it as many times as it takes (sorry Ven for OT). I paid $100.00 for two copies of CFS3, to my wife's not so glowing approval, one for myself, one for my lifelong best friend and squadmate. He and I both tweaked, and tweaked . . . ad nauseum. Really sad, cause he wanted to play it, since it was a gift from his Bud, and we were planning for MONTHS to take the squad from CFS1, and 2 into CFS3. Tech support at M$ had me download and install drivers that were supposed to support the game . . . but they were for the wrong OS. The guy didn't even listen when I told him that I was running ME. Result: F Disk and Format:C . The patch was a screaming disappointment. The peeps that are still flying this game are going to make it a good sim, maybe in about two years, but it was left to them. I could not play this game right out of the box . . . many others couldn't either.

Contrast: A sim where the LEAD DEVELOPER posts at his publisher's forums, and has his own board. Patches, and addons, one right after the other. Third party modellers that, for free, make the best darn planes that have ever seen a PC, and the developer, for FREE, takes PRECIOUS time to add these to the game's code, along with very good (if not always perfect) flight models. The support with this beautiful piece of ART is beyond anything that has ever been done before in the world of flight simulation, and has been so consistent that some gamers have grown used to it, and have actually become arrogant and demanding.

Proof Positive: The more you do for people, the more they expect.

Myself? I am going to experiment with this patched version of the game for GOOD long while before I say ANYTHING. Sure, I have found a couple of things already, as many have, but so far, I am enjoying every aspect of this new version. When I am satisfied that I have spent a good bit of time with my favorite planes, as everyone else will with theirs, we can all fill out the form, as per the readme file (if you can't find it, Cartrix posted it on this forum), and if we do this properly, politely, and like adults (or at least intelligent young people), then when all the data is collected, we will get an even BETTER version.

My opinion? (I know, I know, opinions are like . . .) FB flat rocks, and it's even better now! Report the problems when you have played a while . . . according to protocol.
