I have released the final version of IL-2 Shturmovik Stab. You can download from here: Bayerische Flugzeugwerke (Sydney Abteilung) (http://www.users.on.net/%7Emjtm/IL-2/).

Changes in this version:

http://www.users.on.net/~mjtm/IL-2/SCRN0000.jpg
Added IL-2 MAT Manager compatibility mode and a new background courtesy of Graf.

http://www.users.on.net/~mjtm/IL-2/SCRN0001.jpg
Changed the Graphics options.

http://www.users.on.net/~mjtm/IL-2/SCRN0002.jpg
Added an Icon Settings section. These will automatically be set during gameplay.

If you do not know what Stab does, then it does not matter I guess...but I know a number of people here use it.

It lets you tweak the config file with a GUI.. it now loets you adjust icon range, type etc.. through a GUI... it lets you configure your setup... it has a War diary where you can keep track of you exploits... and more it is similar to IL2 Managewr.. but slightly different.... bot programs are great.....

I get an error.
il-2 Shturmovikstab does not appear to have been installed correctly. Please run Setup from the distribution media again.

I extracted the files to a folder, then ran the il2.exe file.
Tried running the Setup file in the directory and the seems not to do anything.

Is there something else I should be doing to get it going.

Cheers

Unzip the file into a random folder, run the setup.exe in that directory and then run the program via the shortcut which is created by the install - that's all

BTW, you can then delete the folder that you extracted the download file into!

cheers jg52karaya. I have run the setup file in the directory but it doesn't seem to do anything.

The actual download zip file contains all the directories already installed, not a single .exe file.

EDIT : it looks like you must extract this to your root drive of The Drive you boot from.

I tried extracting it to my secondary drive, thats why it never worked.

No, not true. When you unzip, make sure the folder structure is preserved.

There is a setting in WinZip that must be checked: Use folder names

Also, do not unzip to the Desktop but to an actual folder such as C:\Temp.

If using WinZip, you can also just hit the Install button on the toolbar.

Hi Mattm

At first I installed it to my secondary drive in a folder where I unpack all my Rar/zip files. The directory structure was fine except for it being one folder deeper, thats why it probably didn't work. Soon as I extracted Straight to the root drive it worked. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

Cheers anyway Mattm, Fantastic piece of software, Thanks for your efforts.

Just a quick question, should I uninstall the previous version first, before d/l?

matttm

No, no need to uninstall first. Stab will upgrade itself from any verion to the latest; always has.

I did this deliberately to make it easier for anyone that used my software to perform upgrades.

I agree with most of the opinions here.
This is a fantastic piece of work and thanks for making it possible mate.
I've been using it for quite a while now as I like offline campaigns and a little tweaking with settings and I can't imagine better tool for such task.

+ I really like the new main screen "Graf and Grislawski"...

OK, I screwed up and don't have 6.2. Now all links to IL-2 Stab don't work. I need a copy of 6.2. How can I get one?

Its still on "Mission4today", but more important, does it work on Il2 46?

Yes, it does work with IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946. It will just not know about any of the 1946 features.

In a few days, Stab Version 6.3 will be available that will know about 1946.
