There's a bit more on the Gennadich site re: Knights of the Sky. Here. (http://www.gennadich.com/id/641/)

Apologies if it's already been posted.

It's a WWI combat sim focusing on the 1916 to 1918 period that'll be coming out later this year. It looks the dog's danglies.

Occassionally the site there gets updated with some new material and there are a couple of new screenies showing some ground fortifications.

Go check the site out and have a look at some of the movies too. It looks very promising and should be lots of fun.

Kots - it's a Kot simulator. You spend hours horizontal in a cold hut at the edge of the airbase (or below decks on a carrier if we're lucky) reading letters from home or sleeping a post mission party off. It's part of a new 24 hour simulation idea that seems to be taking off.

Thanks for the update Ploughman http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Ye cats! That's the most hard core military fortification modeling I have even seen in a computer game! Looks like German 1917 fortifications on the Western Front. Honors to the researchers and modelers. They are not faking anything in this sim!

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/agreepost.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif Sadly there's just not enough time in the day. Had so much fun on Zekes last night I could almost quit my job and stay on the sim until the money runs out. Was in a formation of A20s and it was too cool being the tail end charley making a smooth roll onto the enemy ships then breaking off into groups for the attack. It was cool until the tracers started whizzing past the cockpit. But it got better when the tail gunner shot the bandit down and all A20s made it back to base. One of them flew tight formation with my smoking crate which landed with no engines. "Gem in hand" indeed. Lots to look forward to. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I still can't decide which I am waiting for:

SoW: BoB
KotS
SoW: Korea (no actual title yet)
Jet Thunder (try SimHQ forums for information)

All of the above look good enough to be vaporware. That's a compliment, not an insult.

I can't be happy about software until I'm holding it in my hand (and the website works).

Ploughman, the last zep raid on the UK was led by the head of the Navy zeppelin fleet, Peter Strasser, in the huge L70, in August 1918. It was a three zep attempt on London by three "height climbers"---fast, high-altitude, 20mm cannon-armed beasts. Unfortunately, Strasser was a twerp. He set out across the Channel while it was still daylight and the zeps were not at maximum altitude. They were spotted by a designated zep killer, a D.H.4 used as a fighter, which climbed to meet the biggest beast of the three, L70. It flamed it without getting hit by the 20mm battery, Strasser and the crew bought the farm, and the other two zeps bolted for home with their tails between their legs---yip yip yip. That was it for the zeps.

I'd love zeps for KOTS. You couldn't really have zep vs. aircraft brawls because the zep would lose. The only thing to do is what the zep did best---climb like hell and run! I'd like to try to match Mathy's feat of zapping the Bank of England in fall 1915. In that single raid he caused more damage than all the other zep and airplane raids in the whole war. Talk about impudence!

That it does. Perfect description, HM, and that's how Jabs used his. He had 19 kills in the 110 by the end of 1940, the top 110 ace, and he got several Spitfires (he managed to down two Spitfire IXs in his 110G nightfighter!). Never fully understood exactly how everything came together in the rear, where the master compass was, the gun breeches, the cannon drums, all the radio equipment, the MG17 drums---the back seater was a busy man!

Of course here is the source for all the 110 manuals:
