I found the clip below (incredible Kursk battle scenery)and I'd like very much to get into possesion of the DVD with the entire movie. Being a Soviet movie done in the 60's perhaps some Russian comrade could find out if the movie is available in Russia etc. I've seen the movie some 30 years ago while a kid.
Thanks in advance!
And enjoy the clip!

I suspect "Liberation" - series that cover several major battles on the eastern front... Kursk, Belorussia, Berlin, etc....

I would be interested to know, as well, CI, and I would like to know which Russian film on the tank war on the E Front you rate the highest. I want to get it!

This one probably be the one... only problem is... they didnt make version with english subtitles.
You might have to deal with portion of pro-soviet flavor in this series, just ignore it. It`s not too bad, i`v seen worse. Whole series are about 9 hours or even 10... Kursk shows massive tank battles, front line is all very well made Tiger alike T-55s i think, in the back lines you can spot 55s and even 72s, but hardly notice it. But they did have some massive "german" advance with couple of hundreds of tanks if not more. Pretty impressive http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Thanks Ivan, it must be this because on the clip it's stated "best movie liberation" or something. So it's a series!! Thanks for the link, I'll see how to get it, too bad there's no subtitles, but anyway I want it mostly for battle scenes.

I have seen this and the battle scenes though massive look like they have been filmed with one camera. I found the whole series very interesting as in the UK we have never seen soviat war film like this before.

Thanks, CI. It certainly captures the atmosphere! I like the film RODINA, though I've only seen half of it so far.

Are those the films where the tanks getting hit or near-hit by bombs are flipping through the
air? I want to get that since I was informed that WWII planes vs tanks was all just hype.
