thats a damn good idea by ubisoft, and i'm sure it will be lucrative and pay for itself in added sales.

they should have done it with Il-2 and Lock-on as well...

Fantastic! , realy pleased to see that TV documentaries will now use a graphically pleasing, and available to the public way of depicting aircraft and combat situations rather than using the vector graphics and film footage only. its about time flight sims, and i can think of none more worthy than IL2:FB:AEP:PF for this purpose. hopefully this will boost the number of people in the flight sim community, and show us not as a bunch of children bored with FPS, but mature people with interest in history and aviation.! <S!>

Hey, I am not bored with FPS. I am just getting to slow http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

But sure, the more enthusiasts show interest in the sim, the better!

No word on Discovery Wings US channel. I do not expect any game tie-in here.

I've been noticing on the History Channel (in the US) the inclusion of computer graphic recreations of ground warfare in some of the shows. Not sure if these are from a game or not, but they do lend to the visual telling of the story.

I'm wondering if this might happen with IL2/FB/PF as it could help in some cases tell the stories of the Airwars.

I expect this will bring a huge influx of new members to the flight sim community.

Checking the listings for Oct 10th could only find a story on American Flying Boats and another on Maritime Reconnaissance but nothing of the show you mention.
Will this be available in the U.S.? will it be shown at a later time, due to a later release date in the U.S.?

I was watching last week they had some footage of a US fighter plane guncamera (COLOR film) going after a twin Japanese of some type, and the footage was ALL vertical, IE: the bomber dived about strait down, actually pulled away from the fighter. YOu could see blue water/Islands, looked like CFS2. And this (corsair/hellcat??) was frigging strait down for at least 7 seconds... wow...got hits but the Japper pulled away... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

Interesting. So teh UBI is finally doing some marketing here. Well Bravo.

But this would not work for LOMAC and it would not have worked long ago for IL~2/FB because of system requirements not met by the average viewer of USA Dogfighter Channel. The FP being based on olde FB can now be used by the average computer of today. Good Move.

What time or WHICH PROGRAM will these previews be shown? Eastern US time, then we can know when to watch??

Please post MORE info, for example: "THis week PF and Dicovery wings will go over the history of the Corsair"First airing On Sunday Dec 17th at 7-9 PM EST, "Bent wing wonder"....etc..

That would be helpful Thanks

I caught one of the Pacific Fighters 'creatives' slots on Discovery Wings (UK) last night, just a few seconds of low-res internal and external footage with a 'take part in history' slogan.
It was during the Spitfire Ace program.
I suspect there may not be specific Pacific-Fighter-themed programs....

I cant help but feel they could have done it better - the stuff I saw could have been any prop-sim back to the first CFS and the IL-2 engine can do much better!

Anyone else see it?

PF really should be in the shops tomorrow to catch any sales these creatives generate :^)

Cheers,
Keith
