ok. I know I'm not the best at this game but this evening just ticked me off!

I would love to know how another fighter, a Fw-190A-9 which is lower then me and going in a dead line make a 90 degree climbing turn to me, then get with in 350 meters of me and shoot me down when I'm flying a A-6 heading straight ahead in level flight.

Bt6ter yet, how does another D-9 who is 200m below me make a 180 degree climbing turn then catch me when I am going in a shallow dive at 506KPH.

In both term the guy who shot me down would have lost energy, IE speed. I dunno how that D-9 caught me when I was in a shallow dive and he passed beneath me by 200meters. He would have had to of made a 180 degree climbing turn. Now I know the Focke is improved in PF but 'cmon somthing doesn't smell right!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe your opponents were just going way faster than you to start with?

They are using the same FMs that you are.

Nope, unless they were human manned online. AI uses simplified FMs to save computer resources. This can lead to unrealistic FM behavior sometimes.

Well a few things could have happened and I'm not sure if I can describe them all.

1) The planes under you were going faster and had more energy going into the fight. Despite your attempt to fly a straight line, what was your speed? If you were accelerating up from 300 or so and the other guy was lower but moving at 550-600 then its quite possible (because the FW190 has a very good zoom climb) that he essentially expended his entire energy advantage to ensure that he could shoot you.

2) The FW190D-9 is a very fast fighter. It accelerates well, it has alot of HP, its second only to the La-7 and possibly a few others. SO, my guess here is that he had alot of energy, zoomed into a position behind you, and maintained enough energy for him to continue the pursuit. With WEP on, throttle at 110%, and the radiators closed, the FW190D-9 is a fast mover.

What you describe is possible...improbable on most circumstances but against an experienced FW190 veteran doable.

Are you still pi@@ed since last night??? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif
I think that's me you are talking about. Not the A9 but the Dora.
I was lower then you and going the other way, but much faster. I was after dive, running for my life, with Tiger Shark in P-51 chasing me. The P-51 got jumped, and I saw a good chance to get a shot at you.
If you are higher and diving you are not necessarily faster than the guys that's turning and climbing. I was way over 600 km/h there.
Didn't you hear my engine screaming like a mad demon??? I was about to blow the cylinders out of it to get that shot.(greedy bastard I am) http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif
But I'm glad to know you feel better now. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
