i was wondering why there was no gunsight in the me-262a is it just left out of the sim or did the germans run out of money(they couldnt paint a gunsight)? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

take hand and put 1 1/2 feet in front of forehead, make fist, smash into face and repeat.

Read the manual on disk2 in pdf format.

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif Yes, once the head becomes a bit mushy, you're better able to absorb useful info from the manual, or even look at the FAQ before posting. However, try hitting Shift-F1 on any plane and it will help stabilize your gunsight, or center it in the case of planes like the 262, Bf-109 and P-47D-10.

The whole Germans' couldn't afford to make gunsights spoiled it... for a minute there, I almost believed you were a noob.

hit"shift+f1"

it seems that everyone has this problem when they start to use german a/c."the german gunsight sucks,no wonder they lost the war" http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif In fact the gunsight in german a/c is not in the middel.

Since there is no reticle on any of the german planes, I found a nifty solution to the problem: I drew the crosshairs with a sharpie marking pen onto the virtual reflector and now everything is working great! (only if you discount the fact that there are crosshairs all over the screen http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif) Make sure that the marking pen has the shift+f1 brand trademark on it and you'll be good to go. One word of warning: don't use any shade of green marker when flying against soviet aircraft above a forested area. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

You are guilty of not reading the manual.

If you read the manual, or consult your command reference card (it's quicker) you will see that there is a command for 'toggle gunsight'. Try it out and see if that helps you see your gunsight in many aircraft that apparently have 'no gunsight' or have the crosshairs obscured

In related news, some aircraft have manual landing gear that are deployed and retraced by hand- no electrical or hydraulic assist.

On these aircraft, you must press the key for manually raising the gear- pressing the good old 'raise gear' button won't work

I think it's very interesting that I'm one of the biggest jerks on the boards, but I always help the newbies...

Ah, yes. As reliable as the changing of the seasons. Every few months somebody comes on and asks the shift-F1 question. Oh well. We all started out once.

I just think it's funny that the first bird he finds this out in is the Me-262. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Teh noob, no?

To everyone who actually answered his question with Shift-F1, I ask you... why? Why tell him?!

From now on when someone posts a topic like this we should just leave them in the dark, let the noobs be noobs.

an other suggestion, why not delate Dolemite's account...
you were born as a "know-it-all"expert or what...for that suggestion, you shell never get an answer on any of your question again!
noobs are willing to learn, or they wouldn't ask at places, where more experienced have the answer...would you love to die DUMP?? no? than let people ask their questiones, even when they are more than freaquently asked!

Don't be discouraged m8, most of the above people
were born playing with their stick and so have allways
known everything from birth. If truth is known
most had this problem and scratched their heads till
they found the answer by reading the manual or asking here.
Cheers and go with a good tailwind. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/10.gif

You probably figured it out till now that it's SHIFT+F1 (by default) that solves your problem.

More interesting question is WHY did axis fighters have gunsight moved slightly to right. It was to be used by right eye only (every gunsight has to be used only with one eye, of course), so pilot did not have to move his head so much as he did on allied planes. And, BTW, crosshair was not drawn or something to the sight, lol. In this case you colud drawn it on the windscreen itself http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif.

That's a fine idea. The next time you ask a question about anything I'm gonna flame you until you think you're a double whopper with cheese.

Shift+F1? Fiddlesticks! Surely the correct answer is Shift+E.

Not true because if one draws it onto the windscreen, then one could not ajust the sight according to the convergence of the guns... that would suck...inless you have something to undo the marker everytime you change the convergence http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif

I have no problems answering question s from new guys, and I have answered this question more times than I care to admit. There's a reason there's a link to aiwarfare.com in my sig, and not my squad site or something like that.

The problem I have with this (and folks in general) is that they don't spend any effort on finding a solution themselves, or think the sim is at fault.

A simple "How do I work the gunsight?" or "I read the FAQ but I don't understand" goes over eaier than "Why is the sim incomplete?"

But I'm not going to change human nature in a help topic on the ubi forums either. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
