first off, is it a good stick? i posted a Q about it, but it seems to have been lost in the sands of time, or whine threads, either one, and I am thinking of getting on.

But all you should have to do is to go into PFs hardware setup, you will see some sliders in the joystick section, mess around with those untill you find something you like

I do not beleive it has been released yet. There was a delay in the production that caused them to push back the release date.

AFAIK, it is already shipping, since you can buy it online at www.saitek.com (http://www.saitek.com)

Hi all

I had an X52 didnt like the sensitivity, tried everything to get it to work how i like it nothing seemed to work. The only time it felt remotely good was when i had all the sliders set to 100.

SOLD IT 2 DAYS LATER.i coludnt beleive a stick could make such a difference to the way you fly. I have gone back to my trusted cyborge3d gold. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif

i JUST RECEIVED THE X52,YOU SEE SAITEK sticks are stiffer than MS Sidewinder sticks,so if you
are looking for the optimum, add the pedals or change stick and move on to CH which is less stiff.Unfortunately thats the "stiff"truth, but whatever you do dont move away from these 3 brands.

Hi,

Yes I have the X52. I've been a beta tester of this (in my opinion) great HOTAS.

It's ergonomic is better than the X45 (retired to the cupboard) and the possibility to adjust the height for small hands (stick only) is superb.

I have a pre prod sample and still the feel and quality is good. I had no glitches whatsoever on my system (a somewhat modified DELL 8200).

And I concurr with the reviewer. Get it!
If you can get a pair of CH Pro rudder pedals go get them aswell http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.

Yes it was the X52.I could move the stick about 3/4 inch with out the software recognizing that the stick was being moved.I contacted saiteks customer services with the complaint and i found them to be usless.I told them the problem and they asked me a question.I answered the question only to receive another etc etc.
TULLY I whent to your site and tried everything
changed all the joystick inputs in the config and nothing improved the stick.
I was very dissapointed with the x52, not the build quality but the sticks input.

I've had the X52 for two weeks. Overall its a good stick but I'm having a couple of problems.

The most concerning is the stick locking up. It has happened mainy times now after an hour of play. At first I thought it may be something with my system but I'm starting to think its a stick problem.

The other is the stick deadzone. I have decreased the deadzone to zero in the software but it still has almost an inch of movement without registering.

On the good side the stick programming options are almost unlimited.

I posted this in Gerneral forum also..............THE x 52 IS A PIECE OF JUNK.I returned it after noticing the stick doesnt register for a 1/4 inch of movement left and up.Its got bad pots and its brandnew.I also returned the 2 newest Logitechs due to same problem.I cant believe that these brand new sticks have bad pots.I hate the CH with there lack of feel and the cougar is outa my reach for nowhttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

My trusty Logi Wingman is still perfect after these yrs so Ill stick with it.

And here I was saving the $ to buy an X52 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif
guess I'll keep the MS Sidewinder P2 a little longer .

It doesnt have pots for the main axis... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/10.gif

I can tell you that the movement is so smooth on the x/y axis, I had to remove all deadbands from my games to maximize my control. There is a VERY small minimal dead zone in the center...and I mean small...as requires since none of us humans can hold a stick 100% perfectly steady all the time.

It took a few solid hours to feel comfortable with the new X-52...was a big change from my x45 or my CH Fighterstick...but its a smooooth ride since.

Hi Combat,

what specifically is bothering you about it?
I have it to set the mix and chose engines, set engines.

The little problem I have is that it's a bit to sensitive sometimes. But i thought that was taken care of.

About the center of the stick it's very sensitive in my system. But I couldn't use it with my X45 settings in IL2 ! Had to find a completely new adjustment pattern. Kill all in-game dead-zone adjustment and adjust sensitivity upward. But as always these are very personal settings.

Maybe his problem with it is that it doesn't seem to do anything... at least on my stick. I'm not happy with my X52 so far. I want to turn the thumb-mouse thing off, so i can just use it as a 4 way switch, and I can't seem to. I could on my X36. Also the X36 seemed much easier to control the aircraft. With the X52 I throw the plane into a high speed stall every time I try to turn. I guess I have some settings to mess around with. If I can return this thing I will.
