Does anyone know if, in the upcoming patch, the propeller pitch control on the 109E will remain manual, or change to automatic?

Manual is correct for 109E.

Thanks for the re-assurance. I heard some discussion on another board about possible differences between E-models, or some such.

IMO the manual control is what makes this plane enjoyable.

agreed. auto-pitch would destroy the character of the Emil

Nope,
Manual is not the norm for E-4 and E-7.
Indeed only the first E-1 and E-3 had the manual prop-pitch control unit, later E-1 and E-3 as well as later version got the auto-prop-pitch device.
Yet since E-4 and E-7 were sometimes rebuilt from earlier airframe they kept the manual unit if it was installed.

i think there has serious problem on 109e manual pitch control.especially when it is in dive.

Do you have a hard refrence to the Auto system in E4 etc ?

Would be really intrested to see it. I have been hunting for a refrence for a while.

Reply via private Email or the forum is fine.

Huh, I thought I read about auto prop pitch on the 109E, forgot all about it. It would be nice to have it.

The patch has the 109Es having the ability to use auto pitch now.

Oh, and the E-7/Z STILL does not have boost.

Cheers Heiden - even if I didn't want to hear that /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Does the Emil still have its Rocket-On-Rails Uber Climbrate (RORUC for short) ?

Ivank,
this is documented in various sources, for instance reports on captured aircraft, or the Emil flight manual.
Check a couple of picture of the Hendon's emil, you'll see that this one was equipped with auto-prop pitch (i.e : no pitch handle in hte middle of the central panel).

Butch2K.

I have a 109E3 RAF Flight test report that clearly states its variable Pitch only. I also have circumstantial evidence that moving of the pitch control lever from the front panel to the Throttle rocker switch does not always mean Constant Speed / auto capability.

What I really need to see is hard documentation that states clearly that Constant/Speed or Auto type operation was fitted to E model series. Ideally with a specfic type refrence or date.

I am a Patch Beta tester communicating directly with Oleg on this issue (and politely dis agreeing http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif ) and would lik to get to the bottom of it.

If you have any hard documentation it would be really appreciated.

Just Check page 8 of L.Dv 556/3 it describes the operation of Emils with and w/o auto-prop-pitch and is dated december 1939. Also mentionned is the fact that ealy emils had manual prop-pitch control which was replaced by auto-prop-pitch control.
As i said E-1/E-3 were fitted with both models, and since some E-4/E-7 were rebuilt using those airframe they kept the system which was installed on this.

Auto pitch does not necessarily mean constant pitch.
