Hello all,

Noticed lately that my joystick (Logitech Wingman Force 3d) seems "loose". What I mean by this is that when it is just sitting on the desk, if I nudge it is easly moves around before I can get resistance. It's not a huge amount (perhaps 3/4 of a cm) any given way, but I find it most disturbing.

Any way to fix this without buying a new stick? I've heard of people changing springs, and I really am unsure about this procedure, but perhaps you guys (and gals) could enlighten me.

Buying a new stick is not an option, so I'd like to fix this one up as best as possible with the lowest amount of $$$.

Question #2:

Those calibration sliders in FB (and in IL2) confuse me. Could somebody care to explain how they work exactly? Also, what are the best settings for my stick?

Thanks a ton,
Ronnie

Try the technical forum for a sensible answer.

In the mean-time, try setting up the dead zone to match your joy-stick's sloppy zone.

The dead zone should (probably) be configured from the joystick driver ... but can also be configured from IL2/Fb controls.

BTW - I like your La shot /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I wrote a long page about this yesterday that took me a long time to get accurate yet remain simple, and the damn message board hasn't appended it to the thread! Lost in the etheral!

That's the last time I try to help anyone using this dodgy excuse for a message-board; I'm far too busy to waste my time like that.

I got the same damn problem with a Logitech Wingman Attack 2 joystick. Flying steady and then all of the sudden the plane pulls to the right without even moving the joystick.

I know it's a piece of crap, but it was cheap, and better than the steaming pile of crap I had before it...

When I have the funds I'll proabably get the MSFFB2.

I was on the phone yesterday to Logitech and I'm getting my Extreme 3D Digital RMAed because it too got sloppy, but in my case I actually felt something go.

Before that, the pot in the twist handle was acting up.

The quality of Logitech sticks is questionable, but ergonomically, they are WAY more comfortable for me than anything made by Micro$oft.

Anyway, if your stick is still under warranty, I would give them a call and see what they say.
