Plenty of life in the old dog yet, I say. Though not as spritely as it used to be, I must confess.

Have a look down the games supported in other Ubi forums.

Check this thread, entitled About the life of the whole Il-2 series (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/63110913/m/8371080943), by Oleg Maddox himself.
The truth is in there.

Plus, that thread will provide you with reading material for the whole weekend ahead http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Cheers,
S.

we have, at the very least, one more add-on coming. new maps are in the work. i believe OM is going to open the code to a very select group for future work. BoB must come! how else will 1c employees eat? (lol)

see this threadhttp://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/63110913/m/8371080943

ANYONE who gets even momentarily tired of BoB, will be back flying the other theatres in IL2, so these forums will be healthy and happy for years to come.

Although I'll be flying the WWI IL2-spinoff when I'm bored with BoB. WWI planes are the dog's B's ! Best looking aircraft EVER is the Albatros DIII !

"I read somewhere" is not something I like to call fact. I call it hearsay http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

This sim is and remain as good and viable as the individual flight simmers make it. Considering that there are still people who fly EAW,Janes WW2,CFS1 & CFS2 I think this sim will be around for some time. The patches and stuff are great... but I fly it because it is good.... and there isnt anything that floats my boat more at the moment. That means Ill be fling it or some time... at least untill BoB comes out.

I hope that GT team (Gennadich) will continue developing this excellent sim even after BoB is out...

Although it will shock many, including possibly yourself, this forum is not focused purely on this game and its patches! In fact, id say the aforementioned things are rarely discussed here. Oh yes, this forum has lots of time yet http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif

Its gonna be yrs before the new series of sim covers what this one does, since there is only so much material that can be covered by an early war sim with France and Britain as the main maps. itll be great, but there are lots of cmpns that users make, and im sure they will continue to do so. I know I will for some time, if life allows.

Users will keep this alive for several more yrs.

I do not believe future patch releases has anything to do with these forums dying down. There is just to much to do and fly and talk and cut up about. I see this community going ten years down the road, patch releases or not m8. I guess some have not come to look at these forums as nothing but a place post questions or get answers. But for myself and many others here, it seems more like an extended family.

There will be some leaving after the last patch for this series, and especially when they realize the code will not be released any time soon, and that is if it ever will. But I believe the majority, those that have been here since I have been, will still be hangin, if for nothing else, comraderie/friendships, and something in common we all love to do.

give us the mosquito and call it a sim. we can get bob when it comes out. But I think that they think that they have to keep us in the game so to speak so we don't find other hobbies. many things we want will be in bob so all will not be here. if bob came out today, this sim would fade away quitly, and I think that bob would rock and all will be happy, just so my system can keep up, cause I can deffinitely handle $50 for an new sim.
