I just took my oldest computer home for the kids to use...(the fastest, a laptop is of more use at work in my wife's photostudio).

My boy (6)wants to play il2 on it...but cannot fly yet so he likes to sit in the gunner seat

I installed il2 the original...but there is only the il2 with a gunner seat....I tried installin the complete edition DVD....but it wouldn't run...(probably needs dirX 9)

will FB go in and run or AEP?.... to give a few more choices of seat?

Pentium 4 1.5 ghz. 512 RAM Riva TNT 2 64mb.card

Most games nowdays are graphics intensive so you need a good graphics card.
Your TnT 64Mb thingy looks to be 20 generations old and even with DX9 you'll be lucky to get 1x FPS

Might want to try out one of the IL-2 Demo's and see how that works.

Just try and install FB and patch it up.
If it runs okay, the add AEP to it.

Have Fun!

If you patched the original IL-2 Sturmovik up to v1.2, you should also have a rear gunner position in the Stuka.

If you can get FB to run it will add the He-111 and TB-3 bombers so lots of gunner positions will be added. AEP will add the Bf-110.

And just for giggles let me tell you, I have two motorbikes and a cool car. Been snorkeing and sailing. Dollar for dollar, this PC is the best money I have ever spent. Put yourself together a PC for under a grand. It will be a very rewarding experience.

Fabian, the kids' computers usually need more power than those of his parents. Entertainment software really squeezes the thing. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

thanks for all your trouble for bothering to reply...

I put FB in Ok although it is a bit of a struggle when there are many planes in a mission..

I think AEP will be a bit too much for it...

maybe have to look for a better cheap secondhand card which will accept Dx 9

my boy likes the TB3 though....lol
