View Full Version : SECRET REVEALED (MAJOR SPOILER)

So an actress revealed how Assassins Creed effects the future

IGN TV: You also have a videogame you worked on for next year, right?

Bell: Yeah, I actually have one coming out for Ubisoft. I don't know what the date is; sometime next year. It's called Assassin's Creed. You can check it out at assassinscreed.com. It's actually really interesting to me. It's sort of based on the research that's sort of happening now, about the fact that your genes might be able to hold memory. And you could argue semantics and say it's instinct, but how does a baby bird know to eat a worm, as opposed to a cockroach, if its parents don't show it? And it's about this science company trying to, Matrix-style, go into peoples brains and find out an ancestor who used to be an assassin, and sort of locate who that person is. It's very, very cool, and I've seen all the graphics for it. We just recorded all the dialogue and did all the face scans and body scans, and I'm really excited about it.

Yeah, I read about this earlier on IGN. I was a bit worried about the modern part of the game, but this seems like a very cool direction to take the game in. I never thought about the memory in genes, but come to think of it, it could be possible. Good idea on their part.

Secret revealed? oh no! now all the fun are gone.. now it isn't gonna be as exciting to see the future part.. sure it's gonna be cool just to play the game, but still.. SOME of the excitement is gone<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

The world has already come to the end.. We just haven't been notified yet!

The genes theory has it's evidence in people, too. I've seen many cases on Reality Zone (former Reality TV) where a person with a transplanted organ starts to have habits and memories of the person who the organ comes from. Habits that were totally unlike them before the operation.

But yeah, it's a disappointment that this vital part of the game was revealed so early. And even that it's revealed before the game is out.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Come on! I knew this since X06, The end of the demo presented at X06 blew this info up. I dont think it'll hurt the game anyway. I certainly dont care that I know this, I am sure the story is WAY more than just this. Besides, Gameplay is where Assassin's Creed shines and that's what matters most.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I'm pretty sure there's more to it than just that.

But I have to say (assuming the info she told was secret), I hope that woman is fired by now.

Indeed.
I remember that in the end of the demo of Assassin's Creed in E3, the presenter shows a small portion of the game and says something about that we are not meant to see it yet.

That portion looked quite futuristic.

In fact, you can see it by yourself.

I think it's cool. It's not like you are going to be running around during the Third Crusade with a chainsaw bayonet or anything. Dreams/memories seem real, so when they are exploring this guy's brain to see if his genes retained a memory from his great, great, great, great, etc. grandfather; then I'm sure the perspective of the player is that of the person who was actually there.

It will also be interesting to see why the people who are probing him want the info, who they are, what they intend to do with/about it.

haven't these guys heard of instincts? how can particular alleles by responsible for the actions of such a broad range of species. i thought it was common sense that all organisms absorb energy either through photosynthesis or putting a pie in their mouth because of natural instincts. no one sucks a girl's tits in front of a baby to teach it how to suckle milk ok?

not only is it automatic. robotic almost, it is completely independent of all influences except the need for survival. it's intuition that allows them to act on their hunger/discomfort, not some pre-embedded memory. how silly.

this whole memory junk is pseudoscience and goes right against all logic.

If everyone were that closed-minded, science would stagnate. People with better brains than ours think there may be something to it... so let them try. Imagine what people would have said 50 years ago if you said "We can tell if someone committed a crime by taking this stuff called DNA from their cheek cells and matching it to crime-scene DNA. All you have to do is cut it with bacteria, then stain it and run it through some electrified jello." They would think you were insane.

Also, it's just a game... nothing wrong with a little imagination.

Why zombies, I always wondered. It's as if all gamers are children. or German - their game laws are more restrictive than prisons.
It isn't the fact that they were zombies that you should focus on. It's what was done with the Zombies. I mean, there's been viruses to create them, spells...but since when in hell has sand been used? What was interesting was the fact that it was actually done well. EA couldn't have pulled the sand monsters thing off, that's for damn sure.
Well, Ubi, children don't go around with 600$ buying PS3s right now. I fail to see the relevance of this point...

What's next? Games on creationism?!#%&# Oh that would be a fun game. Play as Kent Hovind, and save the world from the giant ice ball that just HAPPENS to start disintegrating upon entry into our solar system, hit our planet and freeze mamoths instantly, by gathering the wood to create a boat to hold two of each animal (barring dinosaurs and all other extinct critters). From then on, you can fix the world with inbreeding.

I'm sure said game would be epic.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I don't see why everyone arguing on the game's scientific accuracy. It's just a game, not everything should be realistic. The game comes pretty close to doing the history part

Zombies?

Did you even pay attention to the story as you were playing the game?

Why is everyone complaining anyway? Do you honestly think that Ubisoft would create a futuristic twist if they didn't think the fans would enjoy it? I think you little whinners should play the game first before you get angry at Ubisoft for "ruining" a game you haven't played yet...<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

As for a few posts above, scientific accuracy and games are incompatible, much like George Bush and a brain.

You've got to be flipping kidding me. She spoiled it for you that much? Good lord man, like this information wouldn't be common knowledge a month before the game was actually released.

Get over it.

Oooo, hey idea that's been floating around my head; seeing as she said nothing about having to learn Arabic or French or really say anything about the Crusades, I think we can assume she's a character in the present or future. Now, if she were just some lab tech or secondary character to the story why would they need to scan in her entire body? Furthermore, why would there be talk of "playing as her", and why would she mention someone more coordinated taking care of the motion capture for her character?

I'm gonna go out on a fairly sturdy limb and say that Kristen Bell's likeness is the one we'll assume once Altair's portion of the game is complete. Assuming she hasn't pissed Ubi soft off too much<, I wouldn't be surprised if she were a part of the next game- also assuming that the next game is set in roughly the same present/future.

Just a thought. Oh, and again, get over it.
