Been working on a few AC related things for costuming, and just wanted to share a few works in progress of some of them!

Here's a couple in progress photos of my glider.

The blueprints were (for obvious reason) rather large, so i just printed the main body and one wing.. I made it 15 feet across (scaled down a bit), because the components need to fit in my car.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v87/shmupo/eziocosplay/AC2_flying_machine_project_WIP_by_f.jpg

Aiming for it to be under 20-25 lbs, so I've been using insulation foam and tagboard, and masonite hardboard. though alone they're flimsy, when glued together (using hot glue lol) they're actually very strong http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v87/shmupo/eziocosplay/gliderparts.jpg

The main body is mdf on one side, and masonite/insulation foam/tagboard on the other.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v87/shmupo/eziocosplay/Ezio__s_flying_machine_WIP_2_by_fev.jpg

And here's what I got so far.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v87/shmupo/eziocosplay/gliderbody.jpg

28 more spines (14 for each side, bleh) and hand & foot holds let to do, and stretching & weathering the fabric onto the frame. Though i'm guesing that animal hides were used by leo in the game vs. fabric, i'm, not investing a ton of money into this. Think its gonna be around 80 bucks in materials and scraps laying around http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Gah knows where i'll put it when its done. possibly mount it on a basement wall
And no, I'm not jumping off anything with this.

AC:brotherhood switchblade

Totally impractical silly thing this is, but eh, its neat, and sicne I lost one of my AC2

Um, don't have much by way of wips on this one,

Started with a lil mockup to check on spacing and stuff, and went from there..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v87/shmupo/eziocosplay/switchproto.jpg

Pile o' sculptung, casting a ton of gears (most of which had bubbles in the teeth and had to get rejected) and diddling, and this is what I got so far.
There will be some gears in the center to drive the blades that i still need to build, and scuplt the final blades & main body to mold up, but the rest works http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v87/shmupo/eziocosplay/2619815.jpg

New AC2 dagger,
The old pair i made in like, 4 hours the night before a convention XD. they were decent , but since i lost one, might as well remake it lol.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v87/shmupo/eziocosplay/ac2dagger2.jpg
The grey round bit i sculpted & cast about a week ago, and the rest was made this evening from styrene and jB weld, this will be molded up, cast and painted up n' such. This will be the top of the casing.

wip of the crank thinger that was seen in concept arts

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v87/shmupo/eziocosplay/crank.jpg

but um. yeah. more wips when more progress is done http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Woah man, they look awesome!

Great work! How long did they take you to make altogether?

That Glider looks like it would have taken you forever!

Its actually moving along pretty fast, its taking about 2-3 days per "area", two for the main body, 2 for the tail eyc. prolly tak a couple weeks to finish, though works been done between other projects n stuff http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Well done on the glider. It would be awesome if it actually worked. The Switchblade is very interesting looking and doesn't seem as practical as a Hidden Blade in my opinion. Speaking of which nice job on the casing.

lol i doubt that Leonardo's RL original design worked, or there'd probably be a lot of these things showing up in classical paintings (besides angels XD)

Definitely, the switchblade is just plain silly from a practical standpoint, but I'm guessing they were trying to design something that could reach the cool factor of the standard hidden blade http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Here's the beginning phase of the left bracer sculpt http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v87/shmupo/eziocosplay/lbracer_3.jpg
It'll be cast in resin, and attached to the rest of the bracer (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v87/shmupo/eziocosplay/lbracer_09.jpg)

This is being sculpted from super sculpey ^^

Sculpted the face plate for the AC: Brotherhood dagger! After molding it, the cast will be wrapped around a curve to get the right shape http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v87/shmupo/eziocosplay/acb-daggerplate.jpg

The mech will be underneath this thing, just have to finish constructing it. maybe tomorrow if I'm lucky & pull an all nighter http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Great work, like always! No wonder, after you made a better replica of Ezio's outfit than Ubisoft themselves for Linage! xD

lol maaan.. I'd bet money that the guys who made the costume had some insanely short amount of time to put it together, and didn't get the best references in the world.... seriously, its not very often when you get a reference that *isn't* whats just found via a google search on the internet at the time.

I've been slipping this project in between other work for a year, i had more time to research and stumble into things than say... someone whose got a deadline of a week or 2 XD

Okay, here's the first pull of the plate. the mold I dusted with a mix of carbon black and antique silver powder. i think its okay, but might go with a bit lighter color before doing a wash of black.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v87/shmupo/eziocosplay/acb3.jpg

And here's the bits laid out. next up is the gears and rail that will be underneath the plate.

Very impressive. Like the looks of it more than the hidden blade. Although I'm sure the hidden blade is a lot more practical. What's the span of that thing at its widest?

Anyway, can't wait to see what it looks like when it's finished.

you don't understand British law then, knives, swords, crossbows, bows and a few other weapons are perfectly legal in the UK, also the project here looks like it will be all made from none metallic materials meaning it would be classed as little more than a toy, meaning it could be sold to anyone and carried round by anyone.

I would love you to aproach one of the Met Police armed with a crossbow a few knives a sword and other weapons. you would be taken down Lewisham nick quicker than you can turn your Xbox on mate. Not sure were you seem to think carrying knives in England is legal but in London all you have to do is walk past a copper and if your under 60 you will be searched for a knife cos its not leagal to carry them and in South London we have lots of problem with these sorts of things. Not sure were your from but i would love you to try the Met police one day armed with dangerous weapons its not leagal mate its very illegal.

I spose you can keep them indoors but if a policeman was to bother to get a warent to search your gaff (house) and found lots of weapons you would not be able to keep them.

Also i just asked my godmothers son (whos in the MET) and he says no there is nothing legal about having weapons of any kind in or out your house.

yes that would be the answer the police would give, but you really should look into the law your self, as what the police claim and what the law says are two very different things.

I think your looking into it far to deeply the law says its illegal means its illegal if you wanna run the risk and show the police your arsenal of weapons go ahead, let me know how you get on and il write you a letter to the nick your in http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

every law has exemptions to it, just like I carry a knife all the time I am at work and no one can stop me as it is needed.

if you want to believe there is a definitive law that says you cant your welcome to, but I have carried swords in public many times, even around the police, you are legally aloud to own the majority of knives and swords without a licence and as long as you act responsibly and have a reason for having it they cannot complain.

now if you go running round like an idiot with a sword threatening people you will end up down the local nick, but as long as you act responsibly you are well within your rights to carry a none concealed blade.

Having seen feveron's work up close, the blades are never sharp, so I don't think the law enforcement would take issue with it.

And geez, woman.. send me some of your motivation for working on these things. I need to finish weathering my Rosa up for CCC next month.

Yeah, mine are always dull, and I'll wear them *responsibly* at a con, but I still get regularly stopped by con staff (and on site law enforcement) even after being approved by weapons check if they see them drawn during photos.

I design them to "look the part", but be non functional as weapons and safe (as in "they'll break if i try to use them in an aggressive manner), and (so far) I haven't had anything confiscated or disallowed.

Cactus, hop to it! (CCC? chicago comic con? totally guessing here lol ). Speaking of which, today is finish off the ACB dagger build day! Hopefully stuff be ready to cast tonight, then on to the AC2 dagger finishing XD. should be done on Tuesday, just in time for leaving for Otakon. Sorry about no pics this time. Had to finish and mail off a holster^^;
