This is a great website that has a HUGE list of pictures and videos of aircraft mess ups.

My personal favorite is the airdrop video and the ending is hilarious.

I just saw the midair 2 picture. Heck of a pilot to land that thing. He's got half of a wing and half of a vertical stabilizer missing. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

Nasty, thx for the link

btw, there were some high res images floating around the net of a Spitfire crash in South Africa. The plane number was TE566. I used to have them but lost the images due to a hardrive crash, anyone have them maybe. I cant find them anywhere on the net now.

Good link

not too sure if some of them could be classed as funny tho.

or indeed along the lines of 'oops', especially the b52 or concorde ones

Yeah dazza, I thought the same thing. I didn't make the site though.

Good collection of aviation accidents I guess would be the best wording.

Cant imagine being on the A321 in a crosswind...

I would just be happy to have passed on the inflight meal..

My frequent Glasgow-Belfast flight can be quite hairy. Then again it only lasts 20 minutes!

Some amazing stuff. Those helo pilots are nuts.

A quick story from my Marine Corps days. Our aviation liason officer in Okinawa almost landed on our battalion while attempting to put a CH-46 on the parade deck at Camp Hansen. He came in at 100 or so knots at approx. a 45 deg descent and slammed on the brakes 20 ft off the ground, missing a utility pole and wires by a few feet and slammed the craft on a dime beside the crowd of a few hundred of us. This caused us to lose control of our hearts, lungs, and sphincters for a few seconds. He thought it was pretty cool and came out laughing at all us sissy grunts. Looking at these shots makes me think of how close I came to settling that whole aetheist debate thingy. Whew!!!!!

The year before, that B52 crashed at Wheeler AFB, 3 days after I'd been through there on a MAC flight to Travis AFB. The pilot was a known hot shot and had been reprimanded in the past for safety violations. He apparently wanted to impress some female "Airmen" on board and oversteered while turning around to make another approach, but I doubt they were very impressed.

The one pic is quite sad. If it was just the hotshot getting himself killed, it'd be fine - but he brought how many others with him? And they knew they were going down, you can see the one trying to eject.
