Well I thought I'd try another sim just to see the effort out there, and for only $20.00 what have you got to lose. Well, kinda fun little game, finished the campaign in couple of days, it was:
-arcadish
-some good sounds
-cool looking flak
-flight models immature
-good for first time simmers to practice on
-good for me to practice on
-lotsa planes 150+
-no real comparison to FB
-Warbirds III but Battle of Britian

Anybody else buy it?

Yo there.

I believe I heard something about it some weeks back, do you happen to have a link handy?

Anyone wishing to get the feel of History Channel BoB should simply download Warbirds III, which will be 90% of what you'll get - for broadband users it means a FREE demo.

150+ plus explains why some things would be toned down.

Actually, the warbirds III offline was pretty cool - flyable b17 http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Different from FB, perhaps, but not immature, surely?
WB has been going a loooong time.

There seems to be less accelerated stalls in
WB III than WB 2, or FB, but I have no idea
what is accurate. Accelerated stall propensity
seems to vary between FB/IL2 version anyway.
What are the points of detailed comparasion
that make WB3 FMs seem less mature? (I am not
provoking an argument, just hoping that I'll
learn something about relative strengths of FMs
from a discussion).

The gunnery/damage model seems easy compared
to FB, though, for sure. I shoot down a lot more
things in WB3 than I do in FB.

Takeoff torque seems a bit stronger in WB3 than in
FB. The IL2 original demo had strong torque.
CFS2 and SDOE have pretty strong torque. AH
seems to have next to no torque. WB2 I think
was stronger than WB3 but the memory is getting
dim... The P51 in Xplane 6.51 has strong torque
too, but then it seems to roll above specs so
I don't know if it is at all accurate.

--lotsa planes 150+

Really? I never thought WB III really worked
that well with so many planes in the air? It
seems ok with 20 or so, but I didn't think it
scaled to 150. If so, all very good.
