"Tiger I tanks of 2 Kompanie/ Schwere Panzer Abteilung 504, attached to Panzer Division Herman Goring, launch their attack on the main US 7th Army landing beach at Gela, on the first day of "Operation Husky". Despite the fact that the Herman Goring troops were untried in battle it was only the devastating effect of allied naval gunfire that stopped them reaching and probably destroying the beach head."

I heard those Tigers in the picture was destroyed by a lone P47, singlehandledly stopping the entire HG division. Is that true? /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Nice picture, BTW

most tigers could be destoyed by several small rocks and a packet of gravel

French peasants have been known to immobilise Tiger Tanks by lobbing eggs t them strategically to land them on the vulnerable upper armor, the eggs would break and the yold run down inside the engine and gum it up

I've also heard the USN rearmed their battleships with .50 calibre machine guns because they were more effective...

Ph33r the power of the .50!

Apparently the Hiroshima bombing was fake. The nuke was a dud and didnt go off so the B29 did a couple of strafing passes with its .50 cals, thats waht actually did all the damage in the photo's we see.

Look at the loads of vernerable equipment on the outside of the tiger. If you think 8 .50s were so deadly on the tiger, you should see what the 12 gun hurri can do.

"We could do with some of those razor blades, Herr Reichsmarshall."
When Erwin Rommel that British fighter-bombers had shot up my tanks with 40mm shells, the Hermann G¶ring who felt himself touched by this, said: "That's completely impossible. The Americans only know how to make razor blades." and the above was Rommels reply.

For the love of God! A vein just popped in my forehead! LOL Didn't you know all USN Battleships were armed only with the .50 cal as it was the most powerful weapon ever known to man. Even nuclear weapons are derived from the .50 cal.

Not many people know that the feared A-10 Thunderbolt is armed with a single .50 cal. Ripps russian T-80U:s to pieces with ease.

And the MOAB that blasted Saddams bunkers into oblivion was simply a .50 with more propellant packed into the casing.

Betcha didn't know that !
