Hey guys. Well here we are about a month from release, and I know that usually games go gold about a month before they are actually released, so does anyone know when exactly Assassin's Creed II is going gold? Nov. 17th is getting closer. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

does it really matter when it goes gold as long as it comes out on time?

Yea it will definately be gold.
I'd see on a website a top 40 most pre-ordered Games and ACII was third.
I'm not sure what website it was
If I find the website I'll post it http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

It's not stupid, everyone learns sometime.

It means the game is done and it's time to start pressing the discs.

pressing the disc's doesn't take long due to regional presses so the game could go gold at the end of the month and still be in stores in high quantities by the 17th/20th.

weird how every forum on an upcoming game eventually has a thread like this one

Not very weird... it is a forum of people who want the game, after all.

How do they "gold" CDs exactly? Do they have a large conveyor belt with upside-down discs passing through a laser or do they just have a dozed guys with a stack of CDs on a computer going "insert CD, copy, paste, insert new CD..."?

manufactured disc's are pressed much like how a vinyl record is made. they make the data track and etch it into a metal plate (most firms would use multiple so they can kick out more copies) then the hot plastic is pressed by the plate imprinting the track then they stick on things like the metal backing and screen print the labels.

I wonder why I pre-ordered the game... Living less than 3 miles away from Ubisoft Montreal, couldn't I just go there and buy the game? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

I would be fun if we had an Ubisoft shop. Something really small. I COULD WORK THERE!... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

EDIT: Oh yeah... Here a video showing French-speaking guys from Ubisoft Montreal... They works on the cinematics and on motion capture. Interesting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4AVkXyCazoo

I was thinking about "La Maison Radio-Canada" or something like it... This is the official shop of the National TV Broadcaster/network in Canada. They have a shop in the same building where they produce/shoot their TV shows.

I admit that Ubisoft Montreal doesn't seem that big compared to the big Radio-Canada building... hihi

What do you mean not that big... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

It's the second biggest development studio in the world with more than 2200 employees http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Montreal Rocks! ^^

(This will be after the invention, mass production, and affordable access to clones is introduced.)
