I have obtained another U-Boat Book, this one I picked up on ebay, Amazon are finally trying my patience with their very long wait times for books.

This one being The U-Boat Commander's Handbook. The text is very readable, and is a direct wartime translation by the US Navy from the 1943 edition. The edition I have was reprinted in 1989 and inculdes many photographs taken from U-505, but others have been taken elsewhere.

An excellent addition to what is a fast growing book collection, I look forward to reading this one.

I'm currently reading Das Boot which I'm having difficulty in getting the time to read as I'm too busy working. I also managed to get Wolfgand Hirschfeld's book on ebay, I had been waiting nearly 2 months for this on Amazon - my patience was been stretched very far with this!
