Darn nice rig there man, Enjoy!

Congrats. Nice rig. I built something similar about a year ago but SLI so I'm stuck with AGP till I upgrade my mobo, which I don't intend to do for quite sometime. Great machine and Alienware has a great rep. I'm not gonna spoil your fun by telling you you should have built it. I'm just gonna say, you'll be stunned at the improvement over your last rig. Salute and congrats.

Wow thats a beauty !And if their reputation is even a quarter deserved should provide ultra reliable ,flawless service for years to come...Takes about 3 weeks to arrive does it?Well worth the wait I'll bet! While the 'build it yourself' crew(myself amongst them!)would say theyre quality at a high price (neatness of wiring supposed to be amazing)theres been many a time when spending hours on reformats, trouble shooting crashes etc has led me to wonder if it would have been wiser to just bite the bullet and go for an Alienware... Their European base is in Atlone,Ireland about an hour from my home.

Congrats on new rig.

Just as a matter of perspective, though, IMO there are a number of things that I would consider BIG LEAPS before a new comp rig. In order of importance:

1. New wife/baby
2. New house
3. New Job
4. New Aircraft
5. New Car
6. New Boat
7. New Motorcycle
8. New Mistress
9. New training regimen
10. New Diet
11. New Rig/other tech device
12. New Underwear

Note: New Underwear may go up on the list depending on season and current state of underwear.

Wow. Thats some hardware Woofie. I will be intrested in seeing some of the results when you have that thing running. It should kick the Black Death trac' *$$. Well done old boy.

Thank's everyone... I'll find out how it lives up to it name very soon. I'll keep you posted... probably with help quesions. LoL

Worf101... One thing I'm looking forward to is the rough weather and water in the game... I was seriously thinking about building my own... as I have just about changed everything in my present rig by myself. But this will probably be my last rig before I retire from work in the very near future. And I should be able the make modifications to keep up with the ever changing technology's. Hopefully anyway.

ytareh... I should have it next week at the latest... they gave me a arrival date of 10-27-05 for the shipping.

jensenpark & Bearcat99... I'm interested in your comments about BoB.

Yea, and it still won't be enough to run BoB!
Nice rig.... I wont eb upgradiung much toll BoB..

Is BoB going to be that much of a change in Gaming as far as demands on the computer or shouldn't the new game engine help in running things smoother than for say with the present IL-2 with a desent rig.

ucanfly... Underware is Very much at the Top of the list now... it's probably the only thing I'll be able to say I own out right in the near future. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

looks very nice.... I'd put another 1 gig of ram in there though

I take it it will not be your only rig... if it were I'd also have a couple of terrabyte drives...(to hold all my P2P shares)

as for underwear..... I stopped using that about 10 years ago when I got serious about motorcycling.... they always get uncomfortable on a long trip.. :-)

It's a nice system Woofie, it has a good upgrade path which means you shouldn't have to worry running BOB when it arrives in 1-2 years time. Though by then your current machine specs will be about mid range at best http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Spending the next few years upgrading will be a good exercise preparing you for building your next one.

I think the talk around the forums about your PC needing tremendous horsepower to run BOB is a bit overdone, the game should be very scalable allowing it to run on machines 3 yrs bb(before BOB) to 5yrs ab(after BOB) otherwise the game wouldn't be sellable.

Your going to really enjoy your new Alienware rig. I've had mine since Aug.'02 (Area-51) and still have the original hardware in it and it's doing fine. I can still run FB on high graphics and it still be very playable. I'll be getting a new rig from them early next year. Congrats on your new PC. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Replace #1 with new washing machine, this negates the need for new underwear, therefore shortening list.

Secondary benefits include quieter life and more pennies in the pocket which in turn make the attainment of goals 2-11 more achievable

NB: Some may say wife is the washing machine but that is not PC http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/1072.gif

Bravo! Excellent choice there. Up the system to 2GB when you can afford it. Expect roughly 3 years of service from this rig by then the technology will change enough that you will need something else.

Enjoy!
