Quote...

*Let me just say, this sim looks stunning. The water effects, from waves to reflections (including fire), shell spray, boat wake are terrific. The boat models are very well done, and even the AI "target" boats, such as a merchant vessel, had animated crew members running along the decks, operating deck guns, and so on.*

Thanks, W---I'm awaiting this with interest. I'm also excited by this WWI German submarine sim, too:

This would be a dream come true if it were good and if they could get it released.

I still fantasize abgout a MMP FPS/Ship/Tank/Flight sim of the quality of COD3,LotS,&BoB that is fully merged. I know that eventually we will have one... Probably within the next 10 years if we dont send ourselves back to the stoneage.

From what I see Oleg is doing, I suspect that is what his long-range plan is, Bearcat---I just hope he gets on with it before (1) I am a blind old duffer or (2) what concerned you.

That WWI sub sim would be a dream come true for me, woofiedog. The tactical situation was more interesting than WWII.

Now would somebody please get on with a sim where you can play a gunnery officer in the foretop of H.M.S. LION at Dogger Bank and Jutland! I don't want to control the whole fleet, I just want to shoot it out with LUTZOW!

You want to be more daring. The foretop is the safest post on a British battle-cruiser in the Battle of Jutland. Go for turret X.

I have been following this one for a while. I am very exited about it. Along the lines of what BC what saying is true. One day we will have a MMG with all of these wonderful things merged together. The scope of such a thing is almost too much to comprehend at this point. It would be the most realistic and unpredictable battlefield ever created running 24 hours a day all controlled by the fallability of human players and not the seemingly predictable behavior of AI. Like BC said, maybe in another 10 years.

Daring schmaring I want to direct the entire battery not just follow the pointer.

Well, of course, we already have a massive multiplayer, all weapons system: WWII ONLINE.

I can't wait for ultra-sophisticated AI. Shockwave's BATTLE OF BRITAIN 2 has gone a long way toward making AI more intelligent. They hold historical formations with you, and are a more cunning opponent than Maddox AI. Verbally controlled AI is the next step.
