I'm reading "Wild Blue" by Stephen E. Ambrose (the "band of brothers"-guy) about George Mcgovern and the guys in the Fifteenth Air Force flying B-24s during WW2, and came across this song by a guy who called himself "Anon":

Mel: "As time goes by"

You must remember this
the flak can't always miss
somebody's gotta die
the odds are always too damned high
as flak goes by...
It's still the same old story
the Eighth gets all the glory
while we're the ones who die.

Great book, some very interesting flying facts and lots of powerful stories. Read it.
