oops as i was sayin - i have a P4 2.8hz 1gig ram, 6600gt crd - 66.93 , 9.0c - and everythin seems to run sweet... EXCEPT it seems that a variety of 3D modelled objects have "white" shadows? - these include palms and buildings even ur character when he gets outta plane - other open gl stuff is fine - hills, planes, smoke whatever. im just puzzled because i have reinstalled everything - 9.0c 66.93 aep & pf - and im still gettin issues - also when large amounts of palms are on screen games chunks up chronic (?) are there ways round this? is there somethin i can do to fix these shadows? am i the only one experiencin this? havent seen it posted?

any help would be great!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

I have the same card and the same problem...turn the shadows off - you can at least get by that way. All stationary map objects will still have normal 'dark' shadows... only the placed objects, either mobile or stationary, suffer from the 'white shadow' of 6600gt doom. Turn those shadows off only by adjusting the conf.ini file

open the main folder...open conf. icon...scroll down to opengl section, unless you are using directx...down near the bottom you will see 'shadows = 0, 1, 2, or 3'..make it 'shadows = 0' this will work until the issue gets fixed.

I got the same problem with my 6600GT card. I've tried several different drivers with no luck.
One thin though it really helps me spot those **** pesky tanks that were near impossible to see otherwise! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif So I may just leave it alone! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif
