View Full Version : Oleg's X-52 Settings

I noticed that Oleg seems to favor the X-52 joystick which usually needs to be setup a little bit differently than other sticks in IL-2 (I remember when some flyers used to go 100 across the board with the X-52). So is the new joystick code optimised for X-52s or for other joysticks?

In either case, what numbers do Oleg and team use for their joystick setup?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I don't think Oleg favors the X52... if you're referring to the video interview with MysticPuma and Oleg and Ilya... I remember UbiRazz (was it UbiRazz?) came tot he forums asking what are some good cheap hotas systems to get for the event... and the X-52 was suggested along with the AV8R I guess since they had some of those there as well... I don't think Oleg requested the 52 specifically.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

thanks mrSickStar, I was basing that off of a video interview I saw from a flight convention in England.

The question regarding good settings for the X-52 in 1946 still stands though.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

My stick settings for the X52 are 100 from beginning to end for all three axis which works quite well. The default (10, 20, 30, ...) values are far too sluggish for my taste.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I've always used the default settings for my 52... and every other Stick I've had... I guess I'm just used to them... but maybe that's why I get owned all the time http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I haven't yet installed my shiny new copy of '46, but so far with my X-52 I've set it up somewhere in between the default and all 100s. I start at 50 or so and increase the sliders in a concave-down fashion towards 100. This gives almost perfect control near stall (I've NEVER pulled an FW-190 into an accelerated stall with this setup), but it's a bit twitchy when I'm going for a precise shot. I probably have a bit of tweaking to do to make it perfect, but the new joystick routines in '46 might help.
