Has the PC release date for Brotherhood been pushed back? Last week Gamestop's website said that PC pre-orders will ship 11/16/10. Now it stays they will ship 2/22/11.

I was sent an email from Play.com last week in reference to my pre-order which had this little snippet in it...

We have recently been informed by the manufacturer of this product that the release date has been changed to 25-Mar-2011. We have updated this information on site and will endeavour to process your order in readiness to arrive with you on the release date.

Any word on why it was pushed back? The Xbox and PlayStation versions appear to still be on track for the November release.

This isn't news, we've known that the PC would be released next year for some time, it's just now apparently filtering down to the retailers.

I wasn't aware of this. I've been following the the game news since August. Every site I looked at up until last week listed the release as 11/16. Is the multiplayer what's holding it up?

We've known it'd be early 2011 since July.

If ubisoft have decided on a late march date (which is the most likey, seeing as we got AC2 in march this year for the PC), then they haven't mentioned anything on here.

Seriously, ubisoft.
I don't like you anymore.
If someone releases a game, it should be released at the same time for all platforms.
It's really no fun when someone has already played the whole game while you are still waiting for your version to come.
On the other hand, I hope they will include free DLC's again <3

I would like to express my most sincere disappointment of the fact that Ubisoft has changed the release date only for PC users
It is Not fare to promise a title for PC at a specific date and 1 month before that to come up with the same excuse (for the second time) that they need to make an unbreakable code and the game will be released in spring 2011.

Ubisoft (and its employees) are not treating its clients (US) properly, I ordered my digital edition of AC Brotherhood from their website, on the date I ordered it (2-3months ago),was written under the title "release date 18 November 2010". Everyone said that they will delay the game, but I said impossible if they wrote it there they will keep their word, but I guess (Sony)PS and (Microsoft)Xbox made them a better offer, so they said "forget about PC and our followers ->again".
Not that my comment will change anything, but I hope you will read it and realize that Ubisoft do Not care about return customers (or customers loyalty), but short term profits and new markets.
I will never buy A PS3 or PS4 (in future) or any other version, I will always upgrade my PC to the max.

I hope more people will be Aggravated and Annoyed by Ubisoft's lies and misleading promises, they need to know that we care!

P.S> I would really enjoy to read Ubisoft's answer on that, I already sent to their Customer support officer 1 complain and guess what -> No answer until now.

So really, it's not that hard to find, it's not hidden and there's no delay - it's been scheduled for release after the Console versions, same as AC2 was...

Just saying....

I'm not discussing the issue, there was a Delay , the fact is that on their website:
http://shop.ubi.com/store/ubie...%A2_Brotherhood.html (http://shop.ubi.com/store/ubiemea/en_IE/pd/ThemeID.8605700/productID.194521600/Assassins_Creed%E2%84%A2_Brotherhood.html)
where it is the pre-paid page it was written the Date 18.11.2010 and now it is Written "Spring 2011" /

This was part of the conformation e-mail send to me By the Official Ubisoft, If you want more proof I will cancel My order and show you the whole E-mail.

I'm saying that Mr_Shade is right or wrong (I did Not order the game from him), but Ubisoft is Not right and I have proof.

I only have one question, which doesn't need answered... I.E. It's rhetorical.

What's moaning about the change of release date going to do.

Now everyone shut the hell up and be patient... geez, bunch of spoilt little kids groaning on about how they can't have what they want when they want it.

Once you've 'expressed your dissapointment' there's no need to keep expressing it over and over again. Regardless of having proof or not.

You've made you point, move on!

... and yes, I'm a PC user. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

We've had this discussion before FaTaLMeTaL, of course I'm frustrated by it but constantly moaning about it achieves nothing and whatever Ubisofts reason for releasing the PC version later is I can only accept it and move on.

Anyway, I'm not protecting Ubisoft. I just get tired of people constantly going on about something they have no control over. Get over it for christ sake.

Hello,
As of now, the only date we have is Q1. There is no actual date. The different sites have to put in a date in order for you to be able to purchase it. Until it is officially announced we have no further information. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

If you mean illegally download the game then you yourself are becoming part of the problem. A problem that may have caused the release date to be pushed back in the first place.

Ubisoft may make people angry but it's people that illegally download games that cause these issues in the first place. If you illegally download the game, you are part of the problem.

I have higher degree of anger towards pirates than I do towards Ubisoft.

Pirate or not ..
I don't see any reason for the 4-5 months delay.
You said stop whining, but I think 4-5 months it's not short.
It's pretty long time to wait, say it's one term for university student like me. wow.
They should have explained why they are delaying the pc version at the first place.

Btw, why all these awesome games are coming out on March all together? I'm going to be totally broke. omg

To start with I have no problem with people expressing their opinions on the matter, once or twice but when you get the same person going on and on and on about it... it becomes teadious. Seeing as this is your first post I don't yet class you in the whiney/annoying group. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif

Just because you don't see the reason for the release date doesn't mean it's not a legitimate one. I'm sure they're doing what's best for their business which is what you have to expect from any company especially in todays climate.

Also, what difference would knowing the reason for the delay make? It would still be delayed.

PC (p word) problems are invalid. All system have the (p word), in fact PC is thriving at the moment. Steam has seen 30 million active accounts on their platform during recent tests. Now this is active accounts which logged in during a 30 day period. Their sales have also increased by 200 percent since last year. 30 million is a lot (25 million xbox live users. Now also consider people who purchase retail copies for pc games, that added can maybe double the amount of purchases for games since many still get physical copies of games. If ubisoft used steamworks instead of DRM, it might get (h word) pretty quickly but it will get a whole lot of sales, and more if they actually released the game on time with consoles. No matter what the (p word) is going to exist, delaying games and including these kinds of drm doesn't help. Thinking that people will go and buy a $1000 pc to play a game just because the game was (p worded) faster is a ridiculous line of thought. Not only that but I have seen releases get (p worded) faster on consoles than on PC. Halo reach has been out for like months before release date for example. Instead of doing stuff like this, ubisoft should do the following.

- create a beta (medal of honor sold 1.5 million copies already, most likely due to this, MOH is not even that great of a game)

- use digital distribution like steam.

- outline the great aspects of multiplayer to games (since (p worded games cannot play online that well)

- include little things that games appreciate like small dlc's (mass effect 2 has done this and it works)

etc.

If these steps are taken than not only will fans be happier about your game but you will get huge amounts of sales.

You know, 9 months ago this perspective would have annoyed the hell out of me. But now I've realised Robson's right. I pushed pretty hard to try to get reasons out of Ubisoft via the forum managers for AC2's delay, and to try to get release dates. It didn't work then, and complaining (like I tried to be eloquent in doing back then) won't help now. I think we've all got a fairly good idea of the reasons why Ubisoft has delayed ACB for the PC, based on their past conduct.

Complaining about it doesn't achieve anything (believe me, I know). And all it does it keep it in the mind's eye. Better to just accept the delay, like Robson says, and wait for it to come out. To bring in a cliched old saying - out of sight, out of mind. The wait goes a lot quicker without constantly getting angry and reminding yourself of the PC version delay. If arguing that people shouldn't do something that I myself did not that long ago makes me a hypocrite, so be it. But experience has shown me that its better either to just wait (becuase it will come out, and information will be released beforehand) or just vote with your wallet.

Ubisoft want to earn money... Thats why I think they release the PC version later so the 360-players and PS3 players can buy the game again at the same time as the PC-players because they want to "test something new"...

(Sry for my english)
