Mates,
I have Telstra Broadband. This means I have a ghosted IP. It's like having router problems without the router.

How've you gotten over this problem?

Thanks...In advance.

Mate rule of thumb with Telstra is stay the bloody hell away from em!

Dunno how to solve your problem, but I'd thought I'd give you my sympathies http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

I too, offer my sympathy. Telstra suck on many levels, customer service, line service, pricing etc. Check your bills VERY carefully.
I've got no idea what your specific problem is, but you could try the broadband discussion forums at whirlpool?

What are the Broadband supplying IP's that you blokes are with? I'm stuck on a contract at the moment...unfortunately I didn't know I was buying a lemon when I bought it...

Monday I'll have to see if I can get out of it short of litigation. Otherwise it'll be a full year before I can fly this thing onlinehttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Tell 'em if they don't stop being ***** you'll spend a bit of dosh having a large sign saying "Telstra Sucks my $$$$!" mounted on the front of your house, and invite the local reptiles round for a bit of local colour on the evening news.

How bad is your ping? I'm with Telstra and mine is awful, but I am also in the benighted, tropical north, so it's not as if we're blessed with an over abundance of bandwidth anyway.

cheers,
Ratsack

My ping with the Aussie servers is anywhere from 0-200...with other servers where I see a green bar on hyperlobby it's 200-400.

The problem is that I just cannot connect a game.

Can you fly IL-2 online Ratsack?

Yes, I can play online, although I've not played for about three weeks. My ping is about the same as yours (i.e, awful), but I have no problem logging in unless there's an auto kick for pings as bad as mine.

Are you sure it's not a firewall problem?

cheers,
Ratsack

Ratsack,
I've treid with firewalls on and off...with exceptions for IL-2.

Do you have ADSL, or dialup? When I was on dialup I had a rock solid IP. But this ghosted one I have now is ****.

I don't use Telstra and have never heard of before this thread but I have ADSLow and my ping is always around 500 which is why I gave up flying more than a year ago.

yeah to agree with the others telstra do pretty much suk a big one, useless in most respects.I recomend Internode, they're pretty good as far as price and download limits go.

@ratsack - where abouts in the north are you? I'm up in Sunny Cairns and I would love to have a fly with someone in my own timezone for once if your up for it sometime.

cheers

Got it fixed!

Here I was bashing Telstra the entire time, and it was sortta my fault.

See, I have this LAN program I needed to connect other games with called Hamachi. However, after meeting up with another Aussie on Hyperlobby, I was informed that Hamachi, even if turned off, interferes with hyperlobby.

So, I uninstalled Hamachi, and Voila...I was able to get in.

Skarden,
I'm in your time zone as well...just a hop skip and a jump south, though.
