First Il-2 Center gets hacked and abandoned, and now Sturmovik Technika that was hosted by Luthier has gone as well. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif
ST had the only comprehensive FMB guide worth a light.

Anyone know whether it's coming back? Ham, are you still around?

Have you seen the banner at the top of IL-2 Center? Some folk reckon that it's him doing it. I won't say more, but he's well known.
Luthier was appealing for some cash before that mind, so perhaps he just can't afford to do anything about it. I think the reason that Ham went to Luthier with Sturmovik Technika was that he couldn't afford to carry on his own site either.
I wonder if Ham's coming back or whether anyone else can host the FMB guide?

Cheers.

I think someone mentioned that Luthier were involved in the comin add-on.
He might not have time to restore IL-2 center.
The forums over there works though.

Why do these people attack Sturmoviks sites only? Past six month I haven't witnessed any attacks on Warbirds, CFS or many other game's fansites. Only Sturmovik related gets hacked? Who's behind these attacks? Microsoft? /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Hey, if anybody has a copy of the FMB guide, could you PM me so we could arrange an email?

Thanks,
Ronnie

I hope that someone has got it saved. I printed it out aeons ago when my colour cartridge was packing up, so none of the pictures are visible. The reason I went to the site this morning was to get another copy.
If anyone has it would they post here if they're prepared to email it?

Cheers!

This is a temporary catastrophe. I assume that it's a hosting issue. I'd love to let Ham use my server and bandwidth for free, but I don't think it works with the site administration.

I have old copies of Sotka's guide—the basic info is there although it's from his old site. They are also in MHT format (MHTML, single file web archive), so you can probably only view them with Windows Explorer. I've zipped them up and placed them on my server:

http://people.ee.ethz.ch/~chapman/il2guide/downloads/sotka_FMBguide_mht.zip

That will work as a temporary fix until Ham gets his hosting problems sorted out. Obviously I haven't asked him or Sotka for permission, but I don't think they mind.

Cheers,
Mike

Hi folks,

I'm sorry but I received a request from Ham to remove my old archive of Sotka's guide, so the above link will no longer work. Assuming that guide will no longer be available to the community, I will try to drum up support to get a new one underway. /i/smilies/16x16_robot-sad.gif
