this has probably been said before, but while messing about in qmb (so american *ta152??*!) i flew through some airbursting bomblets. Can anyone explain the damage tome in terms of the explosion flash things which continued after the damage:

and green clouds

It's an incendiary weapon that was used against ground targets. Not airbursting bomblet.

That was my thinking as well. I've only seen that effect from one or two weapons.

Wanted to hear it from the horses mouth...and love to know how he arranged the scenario http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

okay im back
i set up me in a ta-152, im still not sure what that plane is its like the long winged fw190 with über cannons. Then i was in okinawa attacking fw200 condors with AB bombs ( not the AJ casette). when i shot a condor down it released its bombs and they detonated, i flew through the resulting bomblets everywhere and the pictures are the result, i thought it was kinda strange and that you guys might know what it is. BTW the green clouds spilled out until i hit the ground/blew up (i cant quite remember).<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Yeah, you hit the incendiary bomblets then. I find they're really effective when flying an IL2. I go up high and drop them on Heinkel formations. The chaps don't even know what hit 'em!<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

The Ta-152 was Kurt Tanks succesor design to his excellent FW190 design. The FW190D series (the D-9 being the most prevalent version) was actually an interim model until they got the Ta-152's online...their quest was to develop a high altitude interceptor in response to the threat of the B-29. Only the Ta-152H saw service in small numbers. The Ta-152C was nearly ready and we'll see it in the upcoming 1946 addon.

Ahh so you got hit by the incendiary. That definately makes sense. I've see those bombs do a number on ground targets. It seems like the bomblet got "stuck" (in the game engine term) in your plane. Thus the smoke. Normally it'd stick into the ground and make that smoke.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

cool thanks i guessed it was to do with the mw50 but playing last night i saw the green clouds in the ground when bombs hit the ground. i just thought it was strange for it to be green. also is this the same kind of thing but with oil from the engine?

http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p172/jimmyneaves/grab0000.jpg

i dont know if the pictures clear enough, but it was spiralling smoke that came from next to a piece of engine, so it seemed it was coming from nowhere! im guessing the thing that makes the (oil?) smoke is invisible and when the aircraft exploded it fell to the ground still "attatched" to the side of the engine?

Sorry about the questions, im still discoering this game and have only had it for 3 or 4 years!! Im also not very familiar with how game engines work so was just wondering what these strnage things i saw were.

and thanks to everyone for being so quick and friendly!

Yeah I'm not sure about the colour...if thats something from a history book or pilot account or just a limitation of representing different types of smoke and explosions in the game engine.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
