Is it possible to have blood and seriously injured pilots to the next 1.2 version?

It looked very good in the original IL-2.

It was easier to attack bombers and IL-2 aircraft by knocking out the rear or front gunners, now its impossible to know?

The best game ever anyway.

We´ve come far from Dambusters and ace of aces on C-64!

+ one idea to forthcoming BOB! Put some real soldiers to AA-guns. Now they look a bit ridiculous when they shoot all by themselves.

I have to say that a little blood on the inside canopy of our own planes when were shot up would be very cool. Sort of like WWII Fighters was. Or at least give us that option. I know that even if you still change High Gore to 1 in the conf.ini, you still don't see any blood.

some countries in europe (namely german which is prolly an important market) will put FB on the index if you can see blood.

just my 2 cents

Then why can't it be Optional? Certainly WWII Fighters was distributed Overseas, wasn't it?

We may prefer is just have gunner's head bow down. If you want blood, then go play quakes and other like that.

I love it.....People produce games that blow up people, shoot them to pieces, mame them, burn them to death in flaming aircraft, or kill them in prolonged falls from great height....SIMS do this! But make sure we don't let anyone see what really happens to these poor SOB'S as it might offend someones sensibilities.....
(oh, I thought the gunner was just taking a nap)....now I'm offended....

QED.

I'm not sure how you would put gore into FB..... but I have a feeling many people may not be welcoming of a graphical representation of, for example, a HE 20mm hit to a pilots leg.

The worst thing of all would be sanitised gore..... we don't want anything reminiscent of the bit in True Lies where Arnie guns down the guys in the building using the gun on his Harrier.

Tricky question......

Or like in Indiana's movie where the badguy gets chewed up by the prop... eeeeww!

High gore isn't needed. The point of the game isn't to bring back old war nightmares, but rather to bring a more realistic approach to sims and also to WW2 Air Combat. The high gore would not only ban the game in some countries, but also, make the game less enjoyable for the veterans. For example. My grandfather, a radioman in a B-17 over the Pacific and European theaters, awarded 3 purple hearts and the DFC, would not have wanted to recreate the most horrible experience of his life. DO YOU WANT TO SEE YOUR BEST FRIENDS HEAD ROLLING IN YOUR LAP, HIS MOUTH OPEN WIDE IN SHOCK?

Sorry for the caps, but this is what it would mean. Higher gore effects would make it unbearable for veterans who lived through the real thing. I'd rather have the sleeping pilot texture rather than the arm blowing off in five different directions, no matter how cool you think it might be.

Of course that would be horrible, but I don't think Gore would have to be taken to that level. In WWII Fighters, all you saw was blood on the canopy and you still had the option to turn it off. No one's talking about missing limbs and such. That would be rediculoious. All this game would need to give it a 200% Realistic boost is to see maybe a little blood on the canopy from the inside. Your Grandfather has my utmost respect, admiration and gratitude Boosher. I'm aware of the hell they went thru and sacrafices made by the bomber crews and fighter pilots as well.

I don't even really want blood, it would be nice that the glass being shot up were reflected in the external damage views. On all short of a PK, one can see multiple holes in his own glass, guages whacked, gunsight broken, but switch to externals and its like nothing happened to the cockpit.

So one cannot see as the enemy plane gently dives to earth that HIS cockpit is shattered and the enemy pilot is likely dead, you can wind up unnecessarily diving after a zombie, if on a close pass, it doesn't look like anything happened to the pilot eventhough your shooting on a H2H pass showed strike flashes all over the fuelage, but no parting or smoke. On bombers, one may have blasted the tailgunner or top gunner into his great reward but on a close up he is still manning his gun. I'd be happy with broken glass and slumped humans.

NavyFlyer- Good point. More than once I've dove in pursuit of a slightly smoking aircraft to finish him off, only to se him lazily roll into the ground. If I could see the cockpit all shot to hell, I wouldn't bother.

Some blood on the cockpit woulçd be good, shattered cockpit would be great, some bullet holes in the guner or pilot, bearable
But no need to turn the game into a Cannibal Corpse lyric

Well that's just it - we're not blowing real people up. FB is just a game and some of us would prefer to keep it that way. I don't need to see blood in the cockpit or anything like that because it detracts from the GAME. I like games where I blow up representations of "stuff," not "people."

Increasing the realism in that respect would, in my mind, be taking the pain and misery of those unlucky young men far too lightly. And that would probably drive me from the game.

Just my 2c.
