After years of offline flying i start to do it online.
Can´t believe: HL is so ease to use, and as I am already trained , I´m having good results there.(and having my *** kicked too http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif)
Mostly of the servers use complex management needed, something that I never worried about because doesn´t seems to add nothing to fighter performance, but need to learn now.
Is there some place here where I can read about proper engine management?
Thanks. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Thanks, Shinjiro.
What server do you use to fly?

I like Skies of Valor, good mix of in-cockpit yet external views and icons.

Valor is also all historical plane-sets, if your'e into that. Most maps are direct re-creations of events in WW2.

If you've ever longed to fly the P.11 online, check out the Poland map. (p.11 vs Stukas). It's hysterical fun.

Wait, how do you play online? All I got is the select server adress.

Wouldn't that be UK-Dedicated servers?

Download and install hyperlobby, makes things very easy.

Yes, once you have HL, you just have to start HL and select the server you want.Il2 will be started when you click "Join Server" button.
Don´t try the multiplayer button in Il2,it´s unnecessary.

Yes, the Stuka v P11 map is in UKD1, not Valor.

UKD1 is far more historic, Valor is allied v axis by year and venue but that's about it.

I used to love the ukded servers, but since the mod hysteria I can't fly in my favorite servers as I run Vista and crt=2 keeps me out.

Well, I MADE the Stuka vs. P.11 map that is running in Valor. So I'm pretty sure it's in there, eh? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif I was unaware any one else had one. Good to know.

No CR=2 at Valor, btw.

And if you don't think our maps are "very" historical, come take a looksy. We've been doing a lot of map work lately.

Now I need to get the old 4.08 skins. The 4.08 to 4.09b switcher isn't working as I do not have the old 4.08 skins...

I was in Valor this weekend and noticed right away how much the maps had improved, in fact every map change there was at least one person who said "Great map!" in the chat http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. I really enjoyed every map I played in this weekend on Valor, ~S.

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif D'Oh! You are right, obviously I flew in both that night, probably drunk too lol Sorry.

I don't they are historical though, I make maps for the USL and they are made based on actual events, actual types that took part and actual targets. Sure, you have allied v axis at a time and a place but there's no substance - it doesn't really suit dogfight servers imo, history is better suited to co-ops.

I thoroughly dislike outside views on closed pit though because everyone is flying outside the pit looking around them - there's no bouncability. Still, some like that stuff.

I think the closed pit with outside views is a good halfway point. For some it can be a tough transition to go from the many open pit airquake servers to closed pit, especially when most of the closed pit servers are full switch or close to it. It can be a little daunting to go from full on WW views with full icon etc to no indication whatsoever where the enemy, your friends or even yourself are let alone which is which, lol. I go back and forth between the two due to most of my friends flying open pit and when I've been doing open pit too long Zekes V Wildcats can be a real shock and sometimes no fun do to the hefty transition, whereas a few days of Valor and I'm ready for fullreal again.

Osprey - yeah, I agree, full historical accuracy is really only to be had in coops. What I was saying was that whereas previously our maps were a "all planes that fought in these months in this place" now most of them deal with the planeset for a particular air-battle. So, they're more historical than they were - but still only within the confines of a workarble dogfight scenario.

Ahh... FWI. Of all things things we enjoy over the real-world pilots, flying while drinking has got to be second only to the 'refly' button. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Shinjiro - Thanks for the kind words, man http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
