Ok this is really annoying - I keep getting lag in my stick inputs! Not during a flight but SOMETIMES when I go into QMB and more often FMB or UQMG to tweak something and then go to fly the mission my inputs lag by 5 seconds or so. If I quit the mission & return to the menu the mouse does not lag and if I stay in the mission (until I crash) there is no sound or fps lag. The strange thing is that this seems to happen randomly - not everytime that I go into a mission editor. The only fix is to quit PF and reload the driver (I just keep a shortcut on my desktop as it happens so often) and then restart PF and I'm good to go. Has anyone else had this happen? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

Memory??

I've got a Gig of ram so I hope not. My only other random "bug" is that sometimes if I pause the game I lose all sound when I un-pause it. This is corrected, once again, by exiting and then restarting the sim. My machine is no uber game rig but it is a P4 with an Nvidia FX5500 (crappy) vid card, 1 gig ram, and 300 gig HD. I just wish I could trace what it is that is causing the problem.

p-11.cAce,

Amazingly I had this same issue. I posted over at SimHQ forums (Saitek help forum there) and also found one other person.

My problem was just as you described, a lag would suddenly develop with my X45 in the middle of flight. Unplugging the stick, then plugging it back in fixed the problem.

I think my problem was I was plugging it into the USB hub on my keyboard. It must have had a loose connection because I bought a cheap ($8) hub to start plugging the stick into and I haven't had the problem since. Sometimes it will loose the profile (very rare), but I haven't encountered the lag problem again.

I think it's a USB connection issue. I would recommend trying another hub or getting a PCI USB card to stick in your computer. Both are pretty cheap solutions.

Hope this helps.

I have the problem time to time also. Just have to exit PF, re plug in my joystick, start it back up, and it works fine. Though it is quite an annoyance sometimes.

I never thought of just unplugging the stick and plugging it back in http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif I've been reloading my drivers! I was mostly hopeing that this was not some off the wall system issue - I feel better knowing that this is not just a fault with my system.

Hmmmm, I have never had this problem with my X45. Im using the latest drivers from Saitek but I dont use the programming software since I just map the keys in the game.
Could it be the programming software giving you problems?

Naw...the Saitek software is now rock stable and hassle free, you really are missing the point of the software if you aren't running X45 profiles. BTW the UK Saitek help forum really is VERY good check it out, if you have a problem Richard will do his best to sort it out.

Had the same problem on my old computer but far more frequently. The problem for me was, as weeber24 said, a USB connection issue. My X45 just didn't want to play with the USB chipset (VIA something)on my motherboard. Bought me a Belkin PCI USB card and the problem disappeared.

I am going to try that next. I just need to stop waffling and build a better rig http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif This one is my first but the cpu is holding me back and things are starting to get old!

I never had an issue with my X-45, but my X-52 has started acting strange lately. The stick half of the HOTAS will lock-up randomly and I have to unplug the s-video looking cable from the back of the stick half and plug it back in and all is fine until next time.

The throttle unit continues to function properly when this happens and a simple unplug/replug re-activates the stick while in-game no problem, but I can't nail down what is causing it, as I've reloaded drivers, cleaned everything up and I'm starting to think the stick is defective.

I can't think of a WinXP issue that would disable only half of my stick. Any help after p-11 gets his X-45 going would be appreciated. Thanks!

I highly recomend that you put all your sim stuff on the direct USB ports... my PC has 5 USB ports... I have 4 in the back and one in the front... I have my MSFFB2/X-45/CH pedals all on dedicated ports... the fourth port is for a hub that I have my cameras, printer, TIR and my headphones in...
