I use the Thrustmaster Cougar HOTAS throttle and stick with a set of Thrustmaster Pro rudder pedals. I have found that the Cougar has pin-outs to auto-sense and recieve left and right brake inputs from 3 axis rudder pedals. I have not found any 3 axis rudder pedals, so I am looking to modify my rudder pedals with two additional potentiometers as left and right toe brakes.

The question is..... will I be able to assign a variable axis input such as this (Identical to rudder or throttle input) to my brakes. If so..... will the brakes still operate as OFF/ON, or is it possible to get graduated brake response based on the pressure applied to the toe brake potentiometers. Also, any chance we could get a mod to include separate brake control for left and right wheel brakes?

Below is the schematic for modifying your rudder pedals to include toe brakes for use with Thrustmaster Cougar HOTAS:

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Both Simped and CH Pro pedals will give you variable pressure braking, but you cannot map left and right toe brakes separately. the FB HOTAS controls sections only contains one axis for both brakes. The differential braking of the left and right brake is determined by the position of the rudder bar as you apply the brakes.

You could try mapping left rudder and right rudder to your toe brakes to simulate left and right braking while still having the varaible pressure braking.

And you can make 1 toe brake = wheel brake and the other = dive/air brake /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
