I have 2 questions.
1)Do you get renown, when you shoot down a plane.
2)I heared some things about a system to aim at the weak points off a schip, how does it work.

I don't think you get renown for downing aircraft, no.

There is a Mod for the ship weak spots, but can't remember exactly what it's called. Check out www.subsim.com (http://www.subsim.com) and look at SH3 Mods, I'm sure it's in there.

yes you do get a little renown for downing aircraft..it's a small amount ..but renown still the same and the full vulnerabilty mod shows in color the areas on the ships ..eg. ammo /fuel /engines ect in color in the ship req manual http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Just to clarify and add to BR's post: The vulnerability zones will activate if you meet the requirements [within 1,000 metres, close to perpendicular to target] without having the mod installed. What the mod does is overlay the zones in colour in the recognition manual, so you can see them without being in the "sweet spot" to light them up.

Wait till mid-1943, equip your IXb or C with all the flak guns you can get, shoot down about 20 Sunderlands in one patrol (not that hard at all if sailing near Britain) and see what difference it makes. (Hint, it changes renown quite a bit)

Thanks for all the answers.
It took me a while to answer because I haven't been on the internet since Thursday.

The renown you get for each plane is as follows:

* Hurricane = 20

* B24 = 100
* Wellington = 70
* Sunderland = 70
* PBY = 70
* Avenger = 50
* Swordfish = 20

You then modify the result based on your realism.
