Oh I love my GPL but getting into it from scratch is a little daunting, espeically if you don't have the disk! You can just go and buy GTL and slap it onto the PC, then race

Of course, the GTL Spa is a pansy modern day merry=go round with speed sucking chicanes and nice wide traps at corners, while the GPL Spa is a ferocious death trap with cottages 6 inches from the race course, and a 180 mph turn less than a quarter-mile before the most terrifying turn in racing

Overall I love GPL more than GTL, but GTL is a little more accesable

But still, I can race Lotus Cortinas in GTL, and pretend to be Jimmy Clark http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

PS Buzz-

you said nothing about how far out of the groove I am in that pic!

The GPL version of Spa has been converted for GT Legends. It and several other converted GPL tacks are available here-

http://www.nogripracing.com/files.php?subcat=34

Spa-Francorchamps 1967 on the tracks list. Not only that, there's a nice texture update in the track updates section that makes it look alot better than it did in GPL.

And if you haven't seen this already, you should enjoy it.

It's Jim Clark racing a Cortina and winning at Crystal Palace in 1964. I just downloaded Crystal Palace for GT Legends last night.http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif Haven't driven it yet though.

I've already tried pointing out racing to him, I heard some rambling about realizm bla bla bla. I dropped the subject, heck I just want to have fun, bout tired of all the whining of realizm.

I got GTR2, some of them legend cars, and tracks are getting converted over.

It's Hotel California

You can check out any time you like but you'll never leave.

(actually it's more like Royston Vasey).

GTR or GTL, I just can't choose.

The oldies are good for a laugh, but GTR is hardcore.

The cool thing about the racing community, as far as I have seen, doesn't whine about which car is overmodelled and which isn't.. because no one has any loyalty to one particular car. They just drive what they think they can win in http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Err four plus years, and 4000 plus posts... hmm I guess you can take a break. You've earned it (like what we think matters one blessed bit). But I for one will rejoice upon thy return, yea like unto the one sheep that was lost.

Gozr's still around, but he's got alot on his plate and will continue (at least for now) to host HISTORIA and NN servers. He's also had some pc issues and simply isn't motivated to do anything about it right now.

Nonetheless, he has been one of the staunchest supporters of the entire IL2 community and though he will continue to provide resources for this community, his presence will be very much missed.
